Address Change CCL and FOID

Recently moved. Have changed DL to new address. Got new DL yesterday. FOID valid until 2021. CCL expires end of May this year. Logged on today to change address for FOID and CCL. Went smoothly until I got the notification that there is an $80 charge for new cards. Both FOID and CCL. I'm scheduled to take my CCL renewal class next weekend and I will apply for my renewal. But I will not pay $80 for a new FOID card that only cost $10 in the first place

 

Anyone else go through this and do I really need to change the FOID card?

You do need to update both cards to match your current address, the $80 is the $5 fee to change address on the FOID and $75 to change address on the CCL. I believe it currently says on the website that you can also wait until renewal to update address (but I don't think applies in your case unless you're also within 90 days of renewal and have your cert ready).

I am within 90 days of renewal. I will have my carts next Saturday. I see no reason to change address on CCL now and pay $80 and then apply for renewal and pay that fee.

You are NOT paying 80 for the FOID card.

It’s the same as it’s always been.

If you are renewing soon anyway, just change the address on the CCL when it asks during the process.

At that time you can do a FOID if you want and it’s $10.00 plus what ever the state charges for a fee ($1.00/$2.00)

Most of us who got our CCL later than you got the NEW FOIDS which match the CCL.

If you have the old one you may get a new one with the same e pure date as before and the address should match.
