Sig Romeo5. A winner!

It was off to the range today to sight in a new RDS....

It all started when I came across a crazy sale for the Bushnell TRS-25. I've had one on my primary for several years and has never let me down.

So..when I saw one for $47..I jumped on it.

When I got it, it was the 'white label'...but it didnt have the disappearing dot. Good so far.

Compared it to the one I got years ago and it was night and day! The 'new version' doesnt come close to my original regarding brightness. 11 on the new on was like 4 or 5 on my old one.

Well...Bushnell really screwed up this sight. Its off my favorite list. Back it went....

So this led me to look into other sights.

The Holosun was at the top of my list but it shipped with a lower 1/3 cowitness mount. I prefer absolute.

Primary arms...Mehhh...Nice...but....

After alot of homework and searching I decided on the Sig Romeo5.

And after today? I'm very happy with it!

I love the size/weight (I simply dont like BIG RDS's....), the brightness of the 2moa dot and especially the 'MOTAC'. It was this 'auto on' feature that I really wanted in a newer RDS.

Comes with two mounts a low almost flush mount and a high absolute co-witness for front A2 sights.

Its been out in the wild for a while now and seems to have passed the 'interweb tests' ;)

Spent some time sighting it in. The best I could do is rest, bent over on an ammo box in an indoor stall..so it took a bit more time/rounds.

Finally got to where I was happy with it..

After switching to pistols for a bit...then going to the CMMG 22 conversion kit...time running out...I tossed up a new target at pushed it out only to about 20 yards or so...loaded up my last few rounds on hand and let em fly...

I expect it to hold up just fine over the long haul.

Oh...and I scored it for just $129.84 out the door delivered.

Ya...its now 138.99. The link above is the same from my original order..so the price went up. Booo! Hiiissss!!!

Now whats left to do is to get rid of the big Sig logo on the side.

I did that with the TRS-25 and it looks soooo much better.

I prefer the ninja look.. LOL!

Hopefully it will come off with the nail polish remover or mineral spirits...

It's good to go.

Holosun oems Sig/PA/Truglo trutec red dots. It's all really similar, just different specs and featurs.

Thats my understanding as well....

The biggest factor for me was the included mount. Absolute cowitness vs the 1/3 for the Holosuns...

Oh...and the price was the lowest I had seen on em... A heckuva deal!

You can get the TruGlow mult-reticle open dot sight for under $60 on Amazon ... and NOW, it's in a combo version, with 3 different reticals in both red and green. I had the red version. It took and help a perfect zero, was waterproof, and the battery life was incredible; I never had to change the battery in over a year. Having a fully open reticle like a MRD -- but large, clear and with a wide field -- it's the only sight I would consider for home defense on a long gun, or for any use under 50 yards.

I'm a little skeptical on those. But the Tru-tec line is good to go. Glad to hear something about those reflex sights though.

What size dot does this sight have? It may not be but it looks like it could be a bit fragile to be knocking around through the brush with.

Thanks for all the information guys. I have always used iron sights or a scope.
