mauserme Posted May 26, 2017 at 02:36 AM Share Posted May 26, 2017 at 02:36 AM We ask you to help us honor our military this Memorial Day weekend. You see, we designate one day each year to remember those who have left us, especially those who have fallen in our defense. We thank them in our memories. In their absence, we hope they know of our gratitude. At times, we wish we had said more in life than is now possible to say. But saying more to our active military is possible. Saying “Thank You” can be as simple as a phone call - a call to the currently active military who are serving in our defense of course, but one other phone call as well. A call to your State House Representative! How can this help? The bill that would allow military members stationed in Illinois to apply for a Concealed Carry License is in need of more sponsors. This bill, SB1524 Concealed Carry Military, is intended to allow our military to protect themselves and their families the same as any other resident can. And, it is intended to tell our military “Thank You” in life, for protecting our lives. Beginning Friday, May 26, please call your State Representatives. If they are currently a sponsor thank them for supporting our troops. If they are not a sponsor, politely encourage them to honor our living military as they will soon honor those who have fallen. Ask them to join in our thanks by adding their names as a sponsor on SB1524 Concealed Carry Military. We thank the current bill sponsors for their bipartisan support, and honor their commitment to our military: Representative David Reis – Chief House SponsorRepresentative Jerry Costello II – Chief House Co-SponsorRepresentative Linda Chapa LaViaRepresentative Margo McDermodRepresentative Dave SeverinRepresentative John CavalettoRepresentative Bill MitchellRepresentative Terry BryantRepresentative Charles MeierRepresentative Michael HalpinRepresentative Katie StuartRepresentative LaToya Greenwood Contact information can be found here. ### Edited to add Representative Greenwood to the list of co-sponsors.
