CHOPPER Posted January 3, 2018 at 08:25 PM Share Posted January 3, 2018 at 08:25 PM In the past I believe it was necessary to change my password on the State Police web site every 12 months to be able to log in. I was just on the Il. State web site and I cannot find where to change it. Is it necessary or not and if so how do I go about it.Thanks in advance. once0217 Posted January 4, 2018 at 12:04 AM Share Posted January 4, 2018 at 12:04 AM I don't think it is necessary. I've had the same password on there for 3 years.
InterestedBystander Posted January 4, 2018 at 01:33 AM Share Posted January 4, 2018 at 01:33 AM Dont recall being forced to change pwd either. When I've done a change it was due to forgotten one or site issues (per help desk) and used the forgotten link on sign in page. Most sites that require periodic changes will force those on a successful login.

Phelantalon Posted January 5, 2018 at 03:18 AM Share Posted January 5, 2018 at 03:18 AM I was in the first group of permits to go out in February of 2014. I was trying to log on to the ISPFSB website so I could me sure to I could renew when it came time, but it won't accept my password. When I go to try and get a new password, it prompts me for a security question that I didn't have to complete when I first registered back in 2013. I've tried calling and can't get ahold of anyone. Any ideas or suggestions on how I can reset my password? Thank you.

All of us in that timeframe did, including myself. I had to register again with a new username and password. If I remember correctly I did it in late 2014 or 2015. I think you will have to do the same thing.

If the forgot password link isnt working, Id look at a reregister.
TRJ Posted January 5, 2018 at 01:24 PM Share Posted January 5, 2018 at 01:24 PM I haven't been in the site since March 2014. I just set it up now. You have to use the Register link and create a new user nam, password, security questions, verify your DL number, eye color, weight as listed on DL, and FOID card number. Piece of cake and intuitive. Takes two minutes. Once you register remember to write down your sign in and password. The password you use needs to have a capital letter and a special character. Something like F!shst!cks is basic, easy to remember and satisfies the password requirements. That's the old wifi password from the IT guy I fired 15 years ago. I still remember being miffed about it, but amused.
