A 47-year-old woman was shot and killed at a home in Long Grove Monday afternoon, Lake County sheriffs officials said.

The Lake County Sheriffs Office responded around 12:20 p.m. Monday to a residence in the 5400 block of North Tall Oaks Drive in Long Grove for a report of a shooting.

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Christopher Covelli told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that a 47-year-old woman was shot and killed.

Deputies found the woman inside the home and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, Covelli said.

We are still actively investigating. There is no threat to the community, we believe this is an isolated incident confined to the inside of a single-family residence, Covelli said.

That area is a hotbed of MDA activity, so we know what theyll be doing......

Our side needs to get out in front of this. If the victim had been armed she might still be alive. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

I read the article and several others, no one mentioned is she was armed or not. Being armed does not equal being survival though.

While true, it can greatly influence the chance of survival (of both parties) as once a firearm is drawn by a victim the situation usually dissolves. Do you disagree?

They haven't excluded suicide.

Another anti talking point to restrict firearms that will play into MDA

They like the death count, but the general public could care less if a person dies by their own hand...just so long as there is no "threat to the community" everything is fine and they scurry off to Starbucks.

Havent seen anything political about this

We now have become the fear mongers

We are making more out of a shooting

Why not list all the shooting in here and shout how each will be the death bell for gun rights

Just asking why, sometimes it looks like some need to be relevant, so we build before we have any bricks

You have a link about them using this shooting already? Or are we using a crystal ball now!

What are you talking about? I’m not doing the fear mongering. The antis have instilled this mindset

Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Christopher Covelli said that a 47-year-old woman was shot and killed. Deputies found the woman inside the home and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, Covelli said.

Covelli said that the 47-year-old woman was married to a 51-year-old man and they both lived together at the home.

“The two were involved in an argument and during the argument, the woman retrieved a firearm from an upstairs bedroom. The woman fired a shot at the man, which missed the man, but the round lodged into a wall,” Covelli said.

A struggle ensued over the gun and a round discharged, fatally striking the woman, Covelli said.
