ZomBGone012 Posted March 23, 2018 at 09:43 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 09:43 PM Based on current trends today do you think getting a bump stock is worth it or not. I had no interest before but now it looks like we might not be able to! What are your thoughts? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gangrel Posted March 23, 2018 at 09:46 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 09:46 PM If the ban goes through, there will be no grandfathering. The useless you you waste your money on today will be an even bigger waste of money when you have to turn it in or get it destroyed or it turns you into a felon. Dobroguy Posted March 23, 2018 at 10:01 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 10:01 PM Bump or slide fire stocks are a something you buy, install, use once or twice, waste a bunch of good ammo, them put up in the closetnever to be used again.....But thats just me.... soundguy Posted March 23, 2018 at 10:05 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 10:05 PM Nope. I thought for a second I should pick up a bargain AR after the Florida thing. A few folks seemed to be dumping theirs. Turns out I still don't want one. Even at fire sale prices.

spec5 Posted March 23, 2018 at 10:41 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 10:41 PM From FoxNews Trump administration to ban bump stocks, 'all devices' that turn 'legal' weapons into machine guns. President Donald Trump announced Friday that the administration would ban bump stocks and “all devices” that turn otherwise legal weapons into “illegal machine guns,” keeping a promise made amid a bipartisan gun control debate. RandyP Posted March 23, 2018 at 10:55 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 10:55 PM Never planned to buy one before, can't think of a good or bad reason to get one now - as has been mentioned, they are a 'maybe' novelty that gets old almost instantly and does little more than waste good ammo. InterestedBystander Posted March 23, 2018 at 11:08 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 11:08 PM Prices are no doubt inflated now. Saw one at gun show recently for an AK platform $400. $100 more than the last time I saw one which I think was for an AR and that was a while ago. At those prices, just to have one...no thanks. richp Posted March 23, 2018 at 11:20 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 11:20 PM Hi, According to the evening news, the coming ban will be Federal. No mention of grandfathering, but reporting on these issues is notoriously bad and incomplete. FWIW. Rich Phillips
RoadyRunner Posted March 23, 2018 at 11:29 PM Share Posted March 23, 2018 at 11:29 PM You can bump fire without any special stock. It’s just a feel good thing for the antis - you become a felon for possessing a piece of plastic. SMH.

capotwosix Posted March 24, 2018 at 03:21 AM Share Posted March 24, 2018 at 03:21 AM If you want to spend some extra cash you could just get a Fostech Echo II Trigger or a Franklin Armory Binary Trigger. Both are fun, and can almost achieve the same as a bump stock. The Echo trigger in normal semi mode is nice and crisp, has a bit of a learning curve in echo mode, but I enjoy it. jkdkaliman101 Posted March 24, 2018 at 03:27 AM Share Posted March 24, 2018 at 03:27 AM The op's question was about bump stocks but it also applies to standard cap mags and "assault rifles" don't it? I've been thinking of picking up another AK but if JB Prickster gets in and an AWB goes into effect did I not also waste my money?

lilguy Posted March 24, 2018 at 07:06 AM Share Posted March 24, 2018 at 07:06 AM Remember, they are adding bumpstocks to the federal machine gun controls. If this goes along with those prohibitions it’s a 10 year 250,000.00 fine. Same as if you get caught with an unregistered machine gun. They are dead serious about this ****. Don’t waste your money on this, too dangerous .

SiliconSorcerer Posted March 24, 2018 at 05:01 PM Share Posted March 24, 2018 at 05:01 PM My friend demonstrated this with a slip-on shoulder pad. Not quite the same but he managed it quite easily with just holding on to the forearm. When he put his left hand on top vs under the forearm it didn't fly away either.
