Riley_Cubs Posted July 13, 2018 at 09:17 PM Share Posted July 13, 2018 at 09:17 PM Hey guys, so I applied for a foid card in April around the time I turned 21. When I got a response back it said my foid app was denied because I didn't provide a valid military ID. Thing is, I've never been in the military and I'm positive I didn't check any boxes that said I was in the military at any time but I may be mistaken. The problem now is that I cant get this resolved, I've tried calling the ISP firearms department countless times over the last 2 months and have never gotten a pick up on the phone. I'm at my wits end here and am not sure where else to go. If I could have some guidance on where to go from here to get this solved that would be great, thanks. Riley_Cubs Posted July 13, 2018 at 11:12 PM Author Share Posted July 13, 2018 at 11:12 PM Can you log back in to your application page online?Yes I can login to my application online but the only option I get on that page is to submit a military ID. I don’t have any way of going back and unchecking any boxes I may have accidentally check and I’m unable to submit a new one at all.
Molly B. Posted July 13, 2018 at 11:40 PM Share Posted July 13, 2018 at 11:40 PM Send an email to this address and explain what happened. If nothing else, they could reset your application so you can start over but that would mean you would have to pay the fee again. askfoid_askfoid@isp.state.il.us
kwc Posted July 13, 2018 at 11:53 PM Share Posted July 13, 2018 at 11:53 PM Or, you could just join the military. 29 years and counting--it's been a good experience for me. But seriously, so sorry for your pain. I hope you are able to get this resolved quickly.
