vk60187 Posted December 25, 2020 at 12:43 AM Share Posted December 25, 2020 at 12:43 AM Is grinning and bearing it the only option or can we start calling the State Representatives to voice our frustration? I feel like I'm living in a Socialist Dictatorship where my feelings don't matter to the governmental machine. Of course, the machine expects their dues (taxes) on time every time. Redlin Posted December 25, 2020 at 02:56 PM Share Posted December 25, 2020 at 02:56 PM One of the problems I've been seeing is first time applicants, who aren't necessarily hunters or firearm enthusiasts, but are just wanting a gun for self defense (at least the ones I encounter)without knowing the laws, is that they aren't getting their FOIDs,but they just sit back and say "oh well I've just got to wait for my card".I always ask them if they're mad or upset and all i get is the "Oh well it is IL" response. The state is placating the existing gun owners by extending their FOID expiration dates, because they know we would make way more of an issue out of the systematic delays than most of the first time applicants.I always try to get these first timers to take action by calling State legislators ,or some other kind of action, but they are so indoctrinated into the State of IL's gun restrictions they just won't bother, because they don't know how much better it could be without this whole FOID mess.I know people going up to 6 mos. wait now who take it all in stride.SMH. Is there a Representative who is more interested in helping gun owners?

hceuterpe Posted December 30, 2020 at 10:09 PM Share Posted December 30, 2020 at 10:09 PM What's even more insulting is the sleazy lawyer tricks the state is pulling in order to delay the two lawsuits going through the courts. Just last week the state again filed motionto dismiss the appeals lawsuit (thomas vs isp) for lack of jurisdiction.

Then response of opposition in motion for injunction by plaintiffs. In a nutshell. More delays.
