They are reporting here that Democrat participation is up by 200%.

By up 200%, I assume they mean 200% more than the registered voting population.

There's no need for dead voters, when you have living, braindead voters.

Ya did you see how well Quinn did against Kwame? They would have voted for Blago again. Geez.

They voted for anti-gun Kwame.

I'm glad Ives lost. A lot of people don't seem to understand the state they're actually living in.

Ives represents everything that even moderates don't like. Personally I think she'd make a great governor, but my feelings are separate from logic, and logic dictates that she would fail to get enough votes out of Crook County. We need moderates, and even with a turd like JB running, moderates are moderate in the wrong places for Ives to secure their votes. Most moderates are socially liberal, and Ives is the polar opposite of that.

With the people fleeing this state in the numbers they are, and taking into considering the type of voters they are, our numbers dwindle further and further every day.

Republicans in Illinois have to come to terms with the fact that unless we're running a RINO, we will lose. At least with a RINO, there's a chance of winning.

The closeness of the race between Rauner and Ives has sent a message to Rauner, his base is p*ssed at him. he kind of acknowledged that during his speech tonite. Now is the time to pressure him to veto all the anti gun bills and make us happy again. Hopefully enough sleeping beauty gun owners will wake up and join the fight when they realize what happens if Gas Bag gets elected.

My District State Republican senator ran unopposed.

He voted AGAINST 2A Rights.

I have baggage But WILL run against him in next Primary if I can get some support.

Absolute Constitutionalst. Forever 2A !!

We all have some skeletons that we want to keep in the closet but I'll still help you any way I can.

I’m not sure it’s as doom and gloom as people think based off number of votes.

2014 primary

Total D votes 447,318

Total R votes 819,624

2010 primary

Total D votes 915,726

Total R votes 767,485

2006 primary

total D votes 944,397

Total R votes 735,810

So a small sample historically but recently we can see that 1. D’s generally turn out slightly better in primaries than R’s and 2. In 2014 that trend reversed almost 2:1 and now 2018 it has flipped the other way almost 2:1.

Personally I think it has more to do with how fired up the base is against an incumbent. The side in power doesn’t generally generate as much passion in a primary.

On the other hand it does demonstrate that there is a lot of work to be done in November to keep the socialist/communist billionaire from winning. The base absolutely must be fired up or Rauner stands no chance. For the record I think the same would have been true of Ives but at least Rauner has the platform and visibility to start making some moves against Madigan to fire up the R’s. I only hope he sees that what is needed for a rhino like him to actually attract conservatives to come out in force for him.

Rauner's best chance in November may be a replay of the ads he has already used showing Pritzker insulting African American Jesse White, but rephrasing the ads to stress that Pritzker looks down on black people. The black vote in Chicago will never go for Rauner, but if they think Pritzker is an anti-black bigot they just might not show up on election day in November. Without the black vote in Chicago Rauner could win re-election.

Having Rauner in office, even if both houses of the legislature are in Democrat hands, means that the worst of the worst will not be done because of the power of the veto.

I supported Ives in the primary, but now that that is over, I will wholeheartedly support Rauner.

On a personal note, my most fervent hope is that my youngest son and his young family find a job far from Illinois. Without them living locally, I think I can convince my wife to move to a warmer, more gun friendly, and more Conservative friendly environment although I have no idea where I would really want to live yet. Even with Rauner in the Governor's office, Illinois is on the same path to chaos as California is and I don't want to stick around long enough to see how far down it can go.

I also knew allot of people who grabbed a dem ticket. (some always do, due to their job) but allot voted for bliss to try and take a vote away from pricker. So i'm not holding my breath on those voter tallies.

I asked for a Dem ballot just to vote against my rep, so that's one less Democrat in those numbers. I'll vote R in November.

It just doesn't matter how many Republicans came out to vote in the primary. I voted, but if I hadn't? What difference does it make? I will vote "R" come November and that's all that matters. I'm sure a lot of people didn't vote for the same reason. It will be close again for Governor. We already knew that. Let the Dems think they have this in the bag. Let them be the one's who think they don't have to vote in November because of the 'big lead' they have with their 'blue wave'.

Interesting is a case study of my 21 year old son. He is very pro 2A, but also Pro-Choice. He is generally, a LITTLE bit Socially Liberal (Hey I could only counteract the school system indoctrination, so much), fiscally on average, middle (some left, and some conservative views). There are actually quite a lot like him in that age group.

He is very anti JB and pro Rauner (and doesn't consider himself a Republican).
