My 2 cents Posted April 23, 2014 at 05:33 PM Share Posted April 23, 2014 at 05:33 PM Maybe I overlooked a thread like this and I apologize if I did and I do understand the time frame for the ISP to make a decision. "Upon receipt of a qualified application, Illinois State Police (ISP) will issue or deny the applicant within 90 or 120 days depending on the submission of fingerprints. During the review process, ISP will send notifications on key status changes to the supplied email, and send correspondence via U.S. mail to the applicant’s home address. Law enforcement personnel throughout the state of Illinois have a 30-day period to object to submitted applications. In doing so, a board dedicated to reviewing objections will make a final decision to affirm or not the totality of objections submitted. Once the period for review has elapsed, ISP will prepare, print and send the Conceal Carry License to the license holder’s current address". I'm thinking members would be interested in hearing responses from applicants that applied for their ccw license in good faith and at what point throughout the process the applicant was denied either for an old misdemeanor conviction(s) or an old arrest(s) with a not guilty disposition. Are these denials generally coming within the beginning 30 or 40 days objection period of the application or are they coming throughout the whole 90 or 120 review period? How far back were these old convictions or arrests? Maybe there's more to the story on the denials than what's being posted on the forums? Lastly I'd like to say hat's off to Todd and Molly for all their support and thanks for all the information posted from the members. GOOD LUCK TO ALL ! ! ! marathonrunner Posted April 24, 2014 at 02:59 AM Share Posted April 24, 2014 at 02:59 AM In my case, the review board has been doing their due diligence to stall. They have no legal basis to deny me so they are doing everything possible to make me wait. It appears more evident their MO is not based on any law, but the hidden agenda is to deny everybody they can indiscriminately. I am currently looking for an attorney that can sue for punitive damages.

bigdudez25 Posted April 24, 2014 at 03:10 AM Share Posted April 24, 2014 at 03:10 AM I just don't understand how a person who meets the qualifications and passes the mental health and background check can be denied unless there's some extenuating circumstance such as said person being currently under investigation. My 2 cents Posted April 24, 2014 at 04:53 AM Author Share Posted April 24, 2014 at 04:53 AM was under board review now under review what does that mean It sounds like you may have dodged a bullet. You didn't say how long ago you applied. It sounds like somebody somewhere along the line didn't like what they seen in your past so it got kicked the review board and they decided the incident wasn't nothing to worry about and placed you back in the processing pile. Maybe an instructor or training certificate? Whatever the case "Underboard Review" is not something you want to see. In my unprofessional opinion I would think that your in a pretty good position being "under review" and back in the waiting game like everybody else. Good Luck ! ! !
