t_triddy Posted August 19, 2015 at 12:28 AM Share Posted August 19, 2015 at 12:28 AM I'm curious to see if anyone has obtained an SBR in Illinois. If so what are the steps? I'm a little confused with all the forums out there saying yes it's legal and then no it's not legal. If anyone could clear this up for me that would be great. Thanks. RoadyRunner Posted August 19, 2015 at 09:18 PM Share Posted August 19, 2015 at 09:18 PM Dont we still have the 'must be greater than 26" OAL' rule? I believe so, yes. 26" with the stock extended. Todd has mentioned a couple of times he is working behind the scenes to remove that restriction.

RoadyRunner Posted August 19, 2015 at 10:34 PM Share Posted August 19, 2015 at 10:34 PM Thanks Todd! I thought engraving was before applying... Doh! Time to get moving on my build me thinks.... Just Name, City and State? No arbitrary serial number - or does the original serial assigned by the lower manufacturer serve? (Assuming its not a completed 80% of course!) Kipp Jones Posted August 19, 2015 at 10:39 PM Share Posted August 19, 2015 at 10:39 PM Can you sell the SBR if you no longer want it?
Tvandermyde Posted August 19, 2015 at 10:39 PM Share Posted August 19, 2015 at 10:39 PM the orgonal serial number is the one on the form 1 thats what goes into the books of the NFA registry. If you were doing this under a trust -- which you can't in Illinois, you would put the name of the trust.
