I just want to give a nod to to the s\w,m\p,9mm.this platform is a home run.of all the carry handguns I own,I truly trust this $250 gun with my life.over 2000 rds,of all brands of fmj,jhp,with not a one mishap.conceals well and feels good in my hand.goes bang every time and shoots straight.when I am asked to recommend to someone looking to conceal\carry a handgun,it's a no brainer.$50 s\w rebate right now,you could pick up that pistol for around $220.for a single stack,affordable,conceal\carry,it's a great choice.sportsman Outdoor superstore has a exclusive bronze cerakote shield I am tempted to pick up.

I like mine so much I bought a second one so I can always have one for the range and one to carry and a Shield 45, for when I want a little oomph.

I have shot the shield 45,I do not own one,and am more accurate,and feel less recoil than my xd 45.

Everytime I consider getting something new to replace my .40 Shield ,after 5 yrs, I have to stop and ask myself why.The thing is a tack driver that I can carry all day long.

I've never shot any shield. I was considering a .45 for a while, but I'm pretty happy with my compact double stack.

I still like my shield and carry it fairly often. 

But a better trigger and sights, same size with damn near twice the capacity made me love my P365.

I hear you.I'm in the gun buying penalty box for 2019 according to the wife,but I am squirreling away some money for that p365 sas.it's the only gun out there right now that can shelve my shield as a edc.I own glocks,but for the price point,I honestly do not understand why someone would chose the 43 over the shield.the shield certainly has glock reliability.

First one I shot was a 40 cal my brother bought. (got a 40 since he had a lot of that caliber left over from work). It shoots very well and nice! I think he would like the 45 cal one, he is a 45 kind of guy!

 

My preacher has the 9mm one. He likes it too. Shoots easy and well. I wish I had gotten one of them instead of the Ruger LC9. Live and learn.

 

Bottom line to me with any gun is how well you shoot it and how reliable it is. You shoot it good and it runs, you can't ask for more. Being small and concealable works too

Live and learn.your Bottom line says it all.just to emphasize,I am talking about function,reliability,conceLability,customer service.for the PRICE POINT,the gun is tough to beat.I am aware there are several 9mm,s out there at,or under $300 worthy of consideration.

My response to ragsbo,s post kinda disappeared.anyhow,your bottom line says it all.to emphasize,for the PRICE POINT,I believe the shield is hard to beat,considering function,reliability,concealability,s\w customer service.I am aware there are other fine 9mm handguns that can be picked up for $300 or less.yes,I bought a grip sleeve,tfx pro sights,blah,blah,but even out of the box,it's a great buy.

My Shield9 plus Hoag grip sleeve has been solid.  I thought about upgrading to a 2.0...but never got around to it.

I bought mine on the day it was announced. I never do that with anything - Serial #1 is always a bad idea. This one, however, has more than lived up to my expectations. Excellent job of reading the market on S&W's part.

My Shield conceals well and is comfortable to carry, but the trigger is horrible.

I have an early first gen model though.

 

I'd like to try out the Performance Center model.

I'd like to try out the Performance Center model.s\w has some really nice guns in the performance center,with all kinds of options.but those are not cheap.but they are really nice,and a option I would look at,if I was in the market for a 9 or 45, for I'm guessing $4-$6 hundred.

I like my 9mm Shield for very hot days where my clothing is very light. However, I've really settled on the M&P9C which is just a tiny bit bigger, and actually the double stack fits my hand better. Of course the added capacity 12+1 is a nice bump as well. In a holster, both are pretty close in size.  With my Sparks VMII, the M&P9C has turned into the perfect all around carry gun for me.
