Some good news.

The day after HB-4107 was introduced Republican Steve Andersson appeared as a co-sponsor. The retiring republicans name sent red flags up.

Rep Andersson just called me to let me know he did NOT authorize his name to be added tot he bill, he is NOT infavor of the bill and has NOT changed his position on the 2A issues.

He will be asking that his name be removed from the bill but since state government is closed today, it may not happen till tomorrow.

he should stay on as a cosponsor and add amendments to neuter the bill

It looks like Rep. Andersson's name is off the bill. In fact, the action adding him as a co-sponsor has been redacted, too, as opposed to seeing a second action with his name being removed as a co-sponsor.

House Sponsors

Rep. Martin J. Moylan - Mary E. Flowers, Emanuel Chris Welch, Michelle Mussman, Sonya M. Harper, Thaddeus Jones, Anna Moeller, Sara Feigenholtz, Natalie A. Manley, Linda Chapa LaVia, John C. D'Amico, Elizabeth Hernandez, Barbara Flynn Currie, Christian L. Mitchell, Laura Fine, Kelly M. Burke, Fred Crespo and Frances Ann Hurley

Thank you for the update, Todd. I'm very concerned about this bill.

My suggestion to anyone who would register under this bill should it become law...just go ahead and hand in your stuff and save everyone the trouble. Phase Two is confiscation.

Although, I'm not certain how the law would be enforced on existing owners...since no one knows where the guns are and the state is dead broke and has zero resources to spend on it. How many billions did Canada spend on its registration scheme before they finally gave up due to utter non-compliance?

Wasnt it CT or NY that predicted they got something like a 20% or less compliance rate? They want to clear out the prisons but make gun owners felons...except for those on that cruise with the bad accident when a number of items went overboard ;-)
