mobilemail Posted November 22, 2020 at 01:01 PM Share Posted November 22, 2020 at 01:01 PM Did you see the Feb. 2 dateline on the article? COVID and the lack of enthusiasm on the part of the Illinois court system have really jammed this one up. ISRA (in combination with SAF maybe?) have also filed a Federal lawsuit since then regarding the infringement of folks waiting months for their FOID. That also has not yet seen a court date. It would be cruel sarcasm if HB1966 were to pass in the lame duck session in the face of this constitutional (and bureaucratic) atrocity. I will definitely be watching these pages for updates and contacting congressmen.

The FOID service people probably aren't considered "essential" and aren't at work anyway.
ScottFM Posted November 23, 2020 at 04:41 PM Share Posted November 23, 2020 at 04:41 PM Government workers havent lost a day of pay throughout this entire coronavirus lockdown. That is not true. I know government workers that were laid off and some who were furloughed. Also some had 2020 pay increases deferred to a later, still TBD, date. cls74 Posted November 27, 2020 at 09:13 PM Share Posted November 27, 2020 at 09:13 PM Mine expires Feb. 1st. Just created my portal and applied for renewal. Wasn't as bad as I envisioned it to be, and with this thread I know not to expect it before my birthday in August. With any luck, maybe it will be null and void by the time that gets here, but won't hold my breath.
