  1. They were talking about how to categorize the weapons for the arguments to speed things up back in early February. I haven’t heard of that was all hashed out yet or not. Of course the State wants to make it solely about AR’s.
  2. I too it that plantiffs were to submit a list of who would be involved in a scheduling and discovery conference to McGlynn by yesterday.
  3. @mab22 I don’t see how the state wouldn’t just add an amendment or change the law that defines what a peace officer is as far as an exemption goes. I would love for it to succeed, but our elected officials will just change the rules at 3am on a Sunday morning in a heartbeat, and Pritzker would run (if he could) to the capitol to sign it.
  4. Thanks I have one that just turned 18 that would go for this. I’ll get ahold of him.
  5. Can the plaintiffs now amend their argument to include firearms in the registration case, and not just attachments and parts?
  6. I think if they were to grant cert now, meaning in the next few months. That the earliest an Illinois case would see arguments would be the fall of 2024 session. Bevis could happen in that timeline, we will know after their next motion. The general consensus is they won’t give Caulkins a look.
  7. This was my initial thinking. That the motion for injunction moves up the ladder separately, while the actual case on merits remains in the lower courts, and once that request fails then the case begins at the lower level. However, both Washington Gun Law and the lawyer for National Gun Rights both have said the case can now be heard at the Supreme Court if they accept their cert. filing in a few months. It would be taken up in next fall’s session.
  8. Chicago can keep the name Illinois, and just merge Iowa, Missouri and Indiana somewhere around Springfield.
