Tango7 Posted October 24, 2014 at 05:31 PM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 05:31 PM Like background checks for all gun purchases? Just heard that towards the end of an ad (summary, not verbatim). Lovely.

Hap Posted October 24, 2014 at 05:39 PM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 05:39 PM Then there's his opponent Brad Schneider, who keeps repeating the standard lie about the percentage of sales which are done without background checks (I am not going to repeat the number but we've all heard it before). Sometimes you've just gotta hold your nose when you go into that voting booth.
Tango7 Posted October 24, 2014 at 06:05 PM Author Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 06:05 PM Oh, I know better than to pull for Schneider, as much as he blathers about Dold being a Tea Party voter, he's just as much a {D}ie hard DNC follower. sangiovese Posted October 24, 2014 at 06:31 PM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 06:31 PM I keep hearing the same ad. It also includes other phrases like "Strong supporter of Roe v Wade and Marriage Equality". No matter how you feel about these two issues (I'm not here to debate them) I wish he would just say he's NOT Pro-Life and but he IS Pro Gay-Marriage. Phrases like Marriage Equality are meant to appeal to the low information voter who doesn't know what the phrase means but thinks it sounds great. Same with the phrase "Common Sense gun control" Who isn't in favor of common sense? Despite the above, I plan to hold my nose really hard and cast my vote for Dold We don't need two more years of Schneider in the 10th District. You'll need several clothespins: Dold ® = D, Schneider (D) = F Depressing.

mrmagloo Posted October 24, 2014 at 07:07 PM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 07:07 PM Dold is aboslutely the lesser of Evils here. Pretty much a Kirk clone. They actually look a like too.
hgmeyer Posted October 24, 2014 at 08:37 PM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 08:37 PM They are (Kirk and Dold) both Democrat Lite. But, in Washington they help fill out the need for a majority. The Senate is key for judicial appointments and the house to keep Obama from ruining the country further.
mrmagloo Posted October 24, 2014 at 09:34 PM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 09:34 PM You're absolutely right. Kirk is about as far Conservative that we can get elected in this flaming liberal state. Sad.
BillR Posted October 24, 2014 at 11:33 PM Share Posted October 24, 2014 at 11:33 PM Bloomberg gave tons of $$ to Dold.... but Schneider is ever worse. After watching Quinn and Durbin commercials (I can't believe they get away with telling lies...) I believe this country is doomed.

MightyWhitey Posted October 28, 2014 at 07:14 PM Share Posted October 28, 2014 at 07:14 PM This is my area. Don't know which one I'll vote for............if either. With Schneider................out and out Socialist/Liberal. At least you know where he stands on issues though. With Dold................sticks his finger in the air to find how he should vote, no core beliefs..........poster child for RINO.
DD123 Posted October 28, 2014 at 07:21 PM Share Posted October 28, 2014 at 07:21 PM Given the choice between those two, I'd probably choose Bob Dold as long as he doesn't use his entire name in third person.

Professor Wheezy Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:34 AM Share Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:34 AM SO glad I moved out of this District and to WI where I can vote for Walker and Ryan. I had no real choice as a conservative voter in IL. a RINO or a LIB Dem? Getting to be all we have in IL. Look at Kirk who is campaigning for DOLD. And Rouner????
