Part of the negotiations for the CPS and SB1, not all Crook but for Chicago residents, is to remove the cap for real-estate tax increases allowing for another significant raise in property taxes for the residents of Chicago. So if the soda tax goes away it might be a race between Crook and Chicago for who can raise the tax first since it would obviously be even harder for Chicago if Crook beats them to it.
