Dead Folks/Active FOID

Tip

Recommended Posts

Okay, so we lost my wife’s step-father in early 2017, and we lost her mom in early 2018. Both deaths were duly recorded with the State of Illinois.

So imagine our surprise when we received two letters (one addressed to each of them) informing them that their FOID cards were about to expire and that they needed to renew them. Imagine our total shock when I went and ran them only to find out that they were both STILL ACTIVE and got approved for transfer.

So you get rejected for putting Rd. Instead of Road on an app but are still good to go even if you die..... Good Job Illinois!!

Well, you can just let them expire, then the antis will label them as "revoked" and get the ISP to execute a search warrant on their residence (which I guess is your residence, since you got the letters), possibly in a no-knock, pre-dawn raid, for the children.

Don’t they accidentally knee-cap the children on those raids?

Only to get a headline when they don't find anything.

There is an easy cure for all these dead people still on the rolls of different agencies. The social security office puts out a Death Master list that all the credit reporting agencies use to mark accounts.

Just run the names in any of the databases against the Death Master.

Mom died 19 months ago. Since then she has received notice to renew her FCCL, her license plates, and several offers for new credit cards. However, she is no longer listed as a registered voter.

Don’t forget about the living listed as dead in that database.
