why my foid is still denied after I turned in all the information, my foid card was stolen out of my purse so I applied for a lost/ stolen card. When I went to reapply I did it off my phone and hit yes accidentally to the question have I been submitted to a mental Institution within five years. I did all the paper work and sent back in my affidavit form. Will I never be able to get my foid card.

Did you get a letter stating it was denied due to a 'yes' answer?

Yes n I followed all the steps then received another letter and I had to turn in a affidavit just stating everything was correct I was telling them. Still denied

Is it still denied or denied again after sending in the paperwork?

Yes the statues hasn’t changed, since they received the last letter and now there is a pop up where under my denied where is says report lost or stolen or change name. Is it a slow process to update to where I will be able to apply again. U can’t call n speak to anyone because they don’t pick up the phone.

It takes a long time for ISP to process these types of appeals.

If you have a weekday to spare, try calling until you get the hold message ("The ISP is receiving a high number of calls, please continue to hold") instead of the hangup recording. I was able to get in contact with ISP this way recently after a few attempts and a ~20 min hold time.

Yes, but the appeal process is a sloooooow process.  Let's try a Request for Review and see if that works.  Mail and Fax this form to the ISP along with  the affidavit of correct answers. When mailing, use a mail service that will provide a signed receipt of delivery.

Request for Review option only became available very recently.

Address and fax number is on the form. If anything will speed the process, this will.

Hi, i got my foid card revoked due to misdemeanor theft charge when i was 18, I’m going to be turning 21 in 2 weeks, should i turn in my appeal after i turn 21 or can i send it in now. Also I’m in court for possession of firearms without foid and i never received a notice but the day i got the notice finally when i called i got pulled over a day after when i was taking my forearms and ammo to my grandfathers house. Will that bar me from getting a foid card if i got caught without one. My lawyer wants to be appeal it ASAP so wondering if i have a chance at all to getting my foid card and guns back

Deleted.

After reading that you have 2 lawyers advising you, I have no advise that could possibly be anything close to what they are telling you to do!

The lawyer told me to appeal for my foid card while I’m in court. I’m asking if that what I’m in court for will deny my foid card appeal

Courts will not rule different i have 2 lawyers working on this, if i get my foid card charges are dropped and i get everything back. And my grandpa couldn’t come get them i had 48hours to find something to do with them anyways. Just wanting to know if they will accept
My appeal since I’m 21 and that misdemeanor charge doesn’t revoke my foid card anymore.
