TRJ Posted January 31, 2018 at 11:41 AM Share Posted January 31, 2018 at 11:41 AM Given the resurgence of popularity of pistol caliber sub guns like the MP5/clones and Scorpion...and the ATF ruling on pistol braces being kosher to shoulder...is anyone teaching classes specific to their defensive use? evilcat Posted January 31, 2018 at 06:12 PM Share Posted January 31, 2018 at 06:12 PM /me doubles up on the ear pro... Im sure id be fun but it would have to be outdoors and in a grand scheme of things the training would be really close to a regular rifle training. Tyes, but being a pistol caliber means shorter engagement distances. Reciprocating charging handles, and no bolt hold open on MP5 type guns would mean more frequent tactical reloads, and there's enough different that it makes sense to have specialized training. What about all the non-braced weapons? They're a little different being slung from a single rear point and not having the brace for additional contact point. Raw Power Posted January 31, 2018 at 09:24 PM Share Posted January 31, 2018 at 09:24 PM I'd definitely be up for taking some intermediate classes. I use a 9mm pistol w/ brace for HD, and while I know how to use it on a basic level, I could definitely use more training with it. I'll keep an eye on this thread. spaceman spiff Posted January 31, 2018 at 10:40 PM Share Posted January 31, 2018 at 10:40 PM I'd be interested, as I am strongly considering a braced pistol come tax refund time.
