Received an e-mail today from US rep Bill Foster (D-11th District)

Join us to discuss gun violence and reforms to our country’s gun policies. Recent events have shown once again that we need to do more. Every American deserves to go to work or school without fear of violence. Congress must take action and pass common sense reforms as we work with our communities to make them safer.

Please join us:

Would be great to get some pro-2A folks from his district to publicly refute his poor positions.

I will be there as well. Never been to this type of event.

Please DO NOT show up in fatigues unless you are active .mil. Be cautious what you say around the anti's. They will spin any way possible. Keep a calm collected manner regardless how wackadoo they get. Provide facts that you are confident with. I'll be there in a black flannel.

The good news: majority of attendees appear to be pro gun rights. Bad news: otherwise a waste of time in the prepared remarks. Bill Foster drags out the old tropes 30,000 gun violence deaths, etc), one of the Mom's who lost a son telling her sad story, two high school students who organized walk-puts at their schools, and a Pediatrician from Something called Illinois violent death reporting system. She was at least objective.
