Mc41319 Posted January 3, 2019 at 01:06 AM Share Posted January 3, 2019 at 01:06 AM Foid and conceal carry were revoked due to pending felony charges. Case dropped - no felony. What process must one take to get my licences reinstated and my guns returned to me. Cook county
Glock23 Posted January 3, 2019 at 02:04 AM Share Posted January 3, 2019 at 02:04 AM I believe you need to file an appeal to the revocations to reinstate your FOID and CCL. Molly can likely provide more in-depth information. Being in Cook county, though, you may also need to hand over your first born child and kiss Mike Madigan's ring. Molly B. Posted January 4, 2019 at 05:53 PM Share Posted January 4, 2019 at 05:53 PM You will need to file a separate appeal for your FOID and another for your CCL. CCL appeal must be filed online. You will need a certified court document signed and dated by the circuit clerk proving the court ruling or that the case was dismissed. FOID appeal must be submitted via paper: https://ispfsb.com/Public/Firearms/FOID/NonMentalHealth.pdf https://ispfsb.com/Public/Firearms/FOID/AppealRequest.pdf - select records challenge option https://ispfsb.com/Public/Firearms/FOID/Investigation.pdf Strongly suggest mailing the FOID appeal via mail service that issues a signed receipt upon delivery. Keep a complete copy for your self. Expect to wait 4-6 mos. for a reply.

How can they revoke anything while chargers are only "pending"? And at the very least, once the case was dropped, the cards and guns should have been returned immediately with no appeal required. ABC123 Posted January 7, 2019 at 01:16 PM Share Posted January 7, 2019 at 01:16 PM Hey guys, I'm in a similar situation. I was arrested for possession of a gun, which was reduced to a misdemeanor and dismissed. At the time, I had a foid and was under board review for my ccl. They revoked my foid and denied my ccl based on lack of foid. I've sent in the paperwork via certified mail for foid. My question is, what do I need to do to gèt my ccl? Do I re apply or appeal the decision? I submitted prints and took the class in 2015 but I lost the records. Would I have yo take the class again or would isp have records? Thanks

Molly B. Posted January 7, 2019 at 10:53 PM Share Posted January 7, 2019 at 10:53 PM If your CCL application was denied before the CCL Review Board reviewed your case and the board did not render the denial, when you get your FOID card, you could submit an appeal for your CCL and ask that it be processed but then it would still be subject to being denied by the board. You might consider, once you get your FOID card back, get your record expunged, wait 3-4 mos. and double check to make sure everything was expunged. After that, contact ISP and ask them to clear your application from the system because you want to apply again. . . p.s. Your training certificate should still be acceptable except you may have to ask the instructor to issue a new one in the updated format.
