Crime on CTA/Mass Transit ... Reports and Data

I've wondered about the Trib and Sun-Times reporting concerning carjackings. There are several instances where the Trib and the Sun-Times just don't report carjackings. I'm not sure what the reasoning is. Any carjacking that occurs in DuPage County gets reported by the Daily Herald - each and every one. Granted there are not a lot of carjackings that happen in DuPage County, but the Trib and Sun-Times' under-reporting of carjackings in Cook County makes the problem seem less serious than it is.

Its the same thing with accurate reporting of CPD staffing levels - the Tribune and Sun-Times and other Chicago media go along with whatever bull**** Rahm Emanual tells them and they do zero investigative reporting. CWB digs into the numbers and proves that the number of officers on the street has actually gone down, not up. Instead of the Trib and Sun-Times telling the public about how many new police officers have been added, they should be calling out Rahm for the liar he is and telling the public about how fewer police officers there are.

And its true of the CTA crime reporting. The Trib and Sun-Times may pick up a few stories now and again, but they ignore the violence that occurs on a daily basis on the CTA. If you look at the Chicago Data Portal, there is a violent crime that happens somewhere on the CTA, every single day.

If it happens in Wrigleyville or Boystown, CWB definitely investigates and writes a report.

CWB now reports on crime beyond Wrigleyville and Boystown. Most people have heard of the Libune and Scum Times, but are unaware of CWB.

Because of social media, CWB could become a very popular on reporting crime to people outside of Chicago. Unfortunately they have a political bias, or at least the person who handles their tweets does.

Too bad, because I would be retweeting all of their posts, but I don't want to draw national attention to a SJW site. For local news, I can ignore the bias.

Not gonna down play the situations here, but it’s been 10 plus days now, think these guys might have changed clothes since then?

And clearly (in my humble opinion) this could get reduced by at least 50% or more if the signs posted everywhere CTA/Sub Stations etc were taken down! A constantly moving along, get on here get off there mode of transportation with absolutely NO available protective services in place. These guys just wait in place and hand pick their victims each day/night. Then jump off somewhere else and slowly stroll back home only to pimp off these cell phones and goodies for cash. And they say that WE are the stupid ones for actually having a job where we must go to and earn said cash each day!

The smart ones are making a living jumping on and off the trains/subs etc............

Chicago completes surveillance camera upgrade on rail system

The Chicago Transit Authority completed the installation of 1,000 high-definition (HD) surveillance cameras throughout the Red and Blue line subway stations, making the entire system equipped with HD cameras — a valuable tool to help deter and solve crimes.
On average, images pulled from CTA’s cameras have aided police in arresting roughly 200 persons each year.

CTA Employees Attacked Physically And Verbally Everyday, Bus Drivers Union Says; ‘We’re Here To Do A Job’

Even though the CTA installed 32,000 cameras across the transit system, the union says that is not enough to deter crime and to protect workers and even passengers. violent crimes are up across the CTA, whether on a bus or train, platform or stop.
Last year, there were 771 violent crimes reported on CTA property, compared to just 547 four years earlier.

Robbing a soldier in a downtown mob attack? That'll get you probation.
Two teenagers have been sentenced to two years probation after pleading guilty to robbing a U.S. Army soldier during a mob incident at the Chicago-State Red Line station on the day after Thanksgiving 2018

Kim Foxx isn't the only problem. We have judges who never take violent predators off the streets. The perpetrators spend a few hours at the police station being processed and that's it - then they're back out, jumping turnstiles, riding the CTA and rampaging throughout Chicago.

The McDonalds assault the other day is CTA-related.

It's right next to the Red Line, police get called there all the time and the offenders jump on the Red Line to make their escape.

Those mopes come in on the RED Line and go OUT on the RED Line, so where should the undercover officers be?

The McDonalds attack is/was a classic Chicago Theme, everyone is taking a video, everyone is yelling to NOT shoot the attackers.

It was reported the two mopes went into a nearby store/restaurant and pointed and laughed at the security guard.

Then cops showed up and they couldn’t find them, no one saw anything. And yet the video is all over the news and the internet!

And the problem with the 2 years probation is they would have to have 10 or more violations to break it, Thanks Kimberly!

690 violent crimes on the CTA so far this year...

That's amazing! How can this be utilized as support to getting the prohibition of law-abiding concealed carriers (or legal firearm owners in general) from being able to effectively defend themselves on public transportation?

They should have never gotten rid of conductors... One person on the train, in the front car is going to lead to all sorts of problems, and I've seen that first hand many times.

"Public" Transportation is another way of saying Social Transportation. Its just another way for politicians and public unions to fleece the tax payer.

The amount of money that is paid out to "workers" very quickly outpaces the utility that the transportation service provides and surpasses the amount of actual revenue that the service can generate. So money is diverted from other government revenue sources to pay the salaries of the transportation union employees who keep voting their political bosses back into office as long as their bosses continue to steal money from tax payers to keep public transportation up an running, in other words, keep the transportation union members employed.

If anyone objects to having their money taken away from them and given to other people they're attacked for hating poor people and they're called racist.
