CHICAGO HANDGUN OWNER Posted January 17, 2019 at 06:12 PM Share Posted January 17, 2019 at 06:12 PM My FOID was mailed out within 7 days of being active on the website but it has been much longer for the CCL and still don't have it. I was wondering what other people are experiencing as far as mail out time for the CCL once it is listed as active on the website?

FarmHand357 Posted January 23, 2019 at 01:44 AM Share Posted January 23, 2019 at 01:44 AM Went active on my renewal on 1/17, license arrived in mail on 1/22. Now I am set for 5 more years. Congrats Vito! We shouldn't have to get new gray hairs about this every 5 years. Nor should we get short-cycled by taking the precaution of renewing early. This doesn't happen with drivers' licenses and, even though the ICCL is not tied to our birthdays like a DL is, we should not lose 4 months (in my case) simply because we want to be safe and allow plenty of time to ISP for processing... vito Posted January 31, 2019 at 03:43 PM Share Posted January 31, 2019 at 03:43 PM Received my unsolicited FOID new card a week after my CCL arrived. I had not asked for it, and see that the expiration date is the same as my current card. Just the new format.

Xwing Posted February 7, 2019 at 07:31 PM Share Posted February 7, 2019 at 07:31 PM There's a whole thread about it. Looks like average between applying and having the card in your hand is between 30 and 60 days.

FarmHand357 Posted February 19, 2019 at 02:13 AM Share Posted February 19, 2019 at 02:13 AM Two months today and still "Under Review". Hanagan Hmmm, that seems unusual given their earlier quick turnaround--mine took about a month in Nov 2018. I wonder is a backlog is building. Hanagan Posted February 19, 2019 at 03:01 AM Share Posted February 19, 2019 at 03:01 AM >>I wonder is a backlog is building.<< Could be. My CCL was first issued on 2/28/14, and I believe there was a pretty big wave of folks applying at that time. Holidays and year-end vacation time may have also contributed to the longer waiting time. I have no reason to think there is a problem, and I expect to hear any day now. Hanagan

Wild Bill Posted March 11, 2019 at 11:11 PM Share Posted March 11, 2019 at 11:11 PM According to the instructor in the renewal class I just took 3/5, submit/review/approval/receive is taking more than 90 days for CCL.Which is up from 60 days prior to Jabba the Hut being elected governor. Bubbacs Posted March 13, 2019 at 11:15 PM Share Posted March 13, 2019 at 11:15 PM The OP is asking how long the mail wait is AFTER it goes active. There is a whole lot of threads about submitted, review, under review and active today threads. But in reply, I got mine 11days after I saw it go active, usps must have been using replacements that week.....lol

chislinger Posted March 18, 2019 at 09:58 PM Share Posted March 18, 2019 at 09:58 PM I submitted 2/28, still "under review". My old one expires April 1. Maybe the current slow pace is because of people like me waiting until last minute so as not to be screwed out of their full 5 years they paid for the first one. I wonder if it goes active after April 1 when the expiration date will be?

G214me Posted March 20, 2019 at 01:59 PM Share Posted March 20, 2019 at 01:59 PM They sure don't wait to charge the credit card for the renewal do they ? if they had to wait until they get to your application before they could charge your card you'd see faster turn around for sure.
