  1. How many personally owned guns do you sell before the AFT considers you "in the business?" We've previously discussed how there was no firm number. Now it's "1". Or is it "0". better have an FFL before you think about selling a gun? How will the AFT feel about 147 million FFLs? #PokeTheBear
  2. https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2024/04/11/gun-show-loophole-rule/3581712833608/ April 11 (UPI) -- The White House said Thursday that the Justice Department will implement a new rule that expands background checks by closing the so-called "gun show loophole." The new rule requires all gun dealers selling weapons in a brick-and-mortar store to have a license and conduct background checks, including sales at home, online, or temporary booths at gun shows. ----------- The new rule also clarifies that a license will be required for a single sales, ending the practice of sellers using the loophole of selling a small number of guns or people claiming the purchase is part of their personal collection.
  3. A month ago I was in the Metro East area. I think these days there's issues no matter where you are.
  4. Long, rambling discussion in the Sun-Times: https://chicago.suntimes.com/the-watchdogs/2024/03/29/bruen-supreme-court-operation-legend-heriberto-carbajal-flores-george-floyd Gulasekaram says Coleman’s ruling means other non-citizens without violent backgrounds could successfully challenge their gun prosecutions. Willinger doubts Coleman’s reasoning will catch on, though, because of the burden that case-by-case assessments would create. Ellis, one of the judges who found the felon-in-possession law unconstitutional, identified a separate problem in her order last month. She said the Bruen ruling itself thrusts judges into a new role, one that she said she felt ill-suited to fill, that of "playing historian.”
  5. You;re going to be part of the larger presence...
  6. During IGOLD, I've seen Senate President Emil Jones (Jr, not III) hiding in an area in the basement that was under construction.
  7. IGOLD is April 18, three weeks from tomorrow.
  8. The ISP is the law enforcement arm of the Illinois Executive Branch and does whatever the "big executive" wants, or seems to want. The head of the ISP, no matter how he feels about guns and PICA personally, is appointed by the governor and serves at his whim.
  9. Personal experience: I shot a friend's 10mm Model 20 and really enjoyed it. I am not a lawyer: I wouldn't carry a converted gun. YMMV.
  10. And maybe if we drill down there might be other exceptions... I have not gone looking, yet.
  11. The site is back up, in a normal condition after some maintenance. The site was updated to a minor point load version, no change in operation look/feel is expected. Please report any issues.
