If you go here..https://data.cityofchicago.org/Public-Safety/Crimes-One-year-prior-to-present/x2n5-8w5q..and click on location description at the top of the chart then scroll down to #52114 and keep going for a while you get all the CTA crimes from the last year to present, all broken down to platforms ,bus, train, etc...There's a lot,4858 of them.I just can't figure out how to copy them or get them alone on a list.Maybe somebody with more computer savvy than me.

That's a H e ll of a lot of crimes on the CTA, which is supposed to be so super safe that no one needs to carry a firearm to protect themselves. Somebody's doing something wrong here. Must be the concealed carry folks running around like shoot-happy and murder-drunk maniacs. I wonder how many of them in 2014 and 2015 have been committed by legal firearms carriers?

Oh, it's zero? How surprising.

(EDIT)Got this,https://data.cityofchicago.org/Public-Safety/CTA-crime-Jan-Sept-2013/7it2-49z2,revert at the top of the page, that will bring up CTA only. Then on the right side add the dates 10/01/2013 thru 12/31/2014 to get a full list of all 2013-2014.For some reason it won't let me import tha tlist with the choices made already.or I would have. But it's a complete list.

From January 1, 2010 to present there were

· 3730 Robberies (includes strong arm/unarmed and armed both)

· 1481 Assaults (including armed and unarmed)

· 4312 Batteries

· 33 Criminal Sexual Assaults

· 17 Kidnappings (includes 6 child abductions by strangers)

I can get PDF's of each category if you need, but that's the overall view. Pretty scary isn't it.

I wonder how many fewer there would/will be if concealed carry is allowed on public transportation. Even more important, I wonder how many fewer crimes on those who get off of public transportation will be stopped if concealed carry on the CTA/public trans is no longer prohibited. That would be a fantastic statistic for comparison in a few years.

Police credited the CTA's security camera network that allowed police to "quickly identify and apprehend a suspect."

What a load of BS.

For every offender that is apprehended there are 15 that flee to Mississippi or elsewhere and aren't arrested. And it is an outrage that the media doesn't report on the numerous failures of the cameras, the many many times that crimes are "caught" on camera but the footage never results in an arrest.

Don Harmon will slowly shake his head and say something like "This is truly a tragedy, two lives were impacted and two lives irrevocably changed..." That way he can pander to his constituents and jibe with the narrative that there are 2 victims here and economic and social injustice is the real culprit.

Police are investigating a report of an attempted sexual assault aboard a CTA train Sunday morning on the North Side.

A 27-year-old woman told police she was riding a southbound Red Line train between the Fullerton and North/Clybourn stations at 5 a.m. when a male offender attempted to sexually assault her, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department. The victim declined medical attention, according to Sedevic. Police described the suspect as a black man 35 to 45 years old, 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighing 130 to 150 pounds. He has a dark complexion, short hair with a short full beard that is black and gray in color. He also had long finger nails and crooked teeth and was wearing a long tan jacket. Area Central detectives are investigating.
