SamHD Posted November 17, 2018 at 08:54 PM Share Posted November 17, 2018 at 08:54 PM Hi Everyone.......I'm new to this site and joined because I need some advice. I applied for my CCL in March of 2018. I was sent a notice of denial in July of 2018. I was denied because I "answered yes to preliminary question(s)". I answered yes to the question about being convicted of a crime that would have been a felony if committed as an adult. My juvenile record has been sealed for a long time now. I only answered yes to the question because I know the ISP can see all records sealed or not and there was no place to attach my supporting documents. I did not want to be seen as lying on my application. I do have a valid FOID and have no disqualifying criminal/mental history. I submitted my supporting documents via the ISP website's request for appeal link on July 5th, 2018. Is there anything I can do? I feel like this appeals process is just a way for the state to get away with unjustly denying my constitutional right as a qualified American citizen. All advice is welcome. Thanks. SamHD Posted November 20, 2018 at 12:10 AM Author Share Posted November 20, 2018 at 12:10 AM Thanks for the reply Molly. That time frame is what I have been reading every where. A little disheartening, but typical Illinois I suppose. I should have been more bold in the application process and avoided this whole thing. Thanks again. This is a great thing you all are doing for us at Illinois Carry!!
