chrisjj Posted February 19, 2017 at 04:14 PM Share Posted February 19, 2017 at 04:14 PM There is a groupon listing for concealed carry class for $74. West suburban concealed carry in Naperville. Thought it might be useful for those looking. Listing ends 2/
clenz Posted February 19, 2017 at 08:10 PM Share Posted February 19, 2017 at 08:10 PM I thought Groupon removed anything firearm related. Are they back with allowing 2A services? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Craigcelia Posted February 19, 2017 at 11:45 PM Share Posted February 19, 2017 at 11:45 PM I thought Groupon removed anything firearm related. Are they back with allowing 2A services? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk Groupon always allowed gun classes, just not Conceal Carry until as of late. It's good for the consumer but bad for the business owner. I compare them to the mob in how much their take is and actually told that to the Groupon Rep that asked us to do it with them. They take half. If the Groupon is for $74, then their take is $37. The gun class business gets the other $37. No thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jeckler Posted February 20, 2017 at 01:29 AM Share Posted February 20, 2017 at 01:29 AM I've been looking at a couple of those Groupon concealed carry classes for my wife and daughter. Actually have 5 or 6 women who would take the class together. But, I'm afraid that you get what you pay for....
geomick Posted February 20, 2017 at 04:29 AM Share Posted February 20, 2017 at 04:29 AM One of my co-workers was talking about a Groupon CCW class a friend of his took. From the second hand description, there were a number of items that didn't sound right after I took a non-Groupon CCW class (more than a year ago, so the only one I clearly remember was a lot less than 30 shots fired during the qualification). Be careful or you could wind up spending money on a non-valid class.
mywaytl2004 Posted April 18, 2017 at 04:09 AM Share Posted April 18, 2017 at 04:09 AM I never shoot down the competition, but if you're thinking of joining one of these groupon classes, dont. You always get what you pay for. Jeckler Posted April 18, 2017 at 08:08 PM Share Posted April 18, 2017 at 08:08 PM Agreed....you get what you pay for. Especially on the low end. However, paying more doesn't automatically equate to quality instruction. Quality classes and top notch instructors appear to be $150 - $200 for the 16 hours. xdm45aaron Posted April 19, 2017 at 03:55 PM Share Posted April 19, 2017 at 03:55 PM I can vouch for West Suburban Concealed Carry. That's where I took my class. Joe and Terry are both in law enforcement and run you through a lot of different scenarios, a lot of details, a lot of hands on activities, and really make you think. They are normally $150 for ccl classes. FWIW.

jeterlancer Posted April 28, 2017 at 04:00 PM Share Posted April 28, 2017 at 04:00 PM I took my class at Illinois Public Safety Training Group in Crestwood. $100 for a 16hr class, or $90 with a Yelp coupon. They are good guys. I can't believe some people are charging $200+ for a class. I've even seen some close to $300 in Chicagoland. When I got my concealed carry permit in Missouri, the 8hr course was $50. $100-150 seems fair for a group 16hr class.
