The Race is On: Illinois vs. Florida

Recommended Posts

I just mailed in my application for a Florida non-resident CCL. I have given Illinois a 73-day head start (applied 05/07/17 with prints). Let's see who get a license in my hand first. At this point, I'm betting it is Illinois (knock on wood), since, with mailing times, it's really three to five more days until Florida even receives my paper application with paper prints. However, I have been sitting at QC_verified since at least 05/19/17 (61 days ago), so I would not put it past Illinois to lose — even with such a big head start.

Wait, wait, we are at the mercy of "The Brownshoe" to make this race winner decision!

Looks like I'm going to have to sit with him at the mailbox each day now for a few weeks.........

Just two Buds cheering on a dead horse (Illinois) over a state with rich horse racing history (Florida)!

Come on Illinois you've never let a dead body stop you before in history, just look at the voting in Crook County!

Looks like Bubbacs has pulled into the lead. I just checked my Illinois ISP account and I have moved from Under Review / QC_verified to Under Review / Approved. Clearly, this was in response to my posting.

PS It's just Brownshoe, The Brownshoe is my father. :frantics:

Yes, I pushed the magic button here on my iPad (there's a App for everything) and pushed you thru to Approved!

As for "The", I fell in love with it after seeing years of "i" placed in front of everything after the attempt to take over the world by Apple!

i this, i that, I can't stand it........see what i did there?

Thank you, thank you.

I still think it is possible Florida beats Illinois.

Big lead now for Bubbacs. I just went Active within the last hour or so (yes, I've been obsessively checking).

Reading as I do (no life) there is a large batch that was processed.

Peeps posting everywhere about going Approved and Active in the last two days.

I'm going to throw 100 more toothpicks on Illinois in hand first........

They wanted supplemental paperwork because my print check returned a DUI from 2003. Ironically, I had mailed them the certified disposition because I was trying to ensure that wouldn't happen. One quick phone call to the FL Dept of Ag and Licensing (whatever the official name of the issuing authority) fixed that. "Oh, we didn't see the disposition...." Easier than if ISP had pulled some crap like that. Would be waiting months, years, who knows.

I went to the Niles PD to get fingerprinted. The officer who took my prints knew exactly what she was doing; corrected one thing on my fingerprint card, saying Florida prefers it this way; and took great pride in the quality of her fingerprints. She said she hopes they don't get rejected, but if they do, it's free to do them as many times as it takes.

Well, we have a winner. My EA just emailed that my CCL just arrived and is waiting for me at the office. I land in a couple of hours, so I can go pick it up!

You can't NOT post the winner, if you do you lose double toothpicks.......

So, what's a EA?

Why did your CCL go to a office?

Why not your home?

Inquiring minds want to know........now start typing!!!!!!!!!

I took EA = Executive Assistant. I did wonder about delivery to the office though...does that not imply DL and FOID also have office address? Edit - although he says its waiting for him, not necessarily delivered there.

Sorry, posted to from phone. My ILLINOIS CCL was here waiting for me at the office when I got back from work travel today. I use my office address as my mailing address, but the FOID and CCL have my home address on them. ISP allows you to mail the licenses to a different address than your home address. I send things to my office because 1) I'm there a whole lot more than I'm home, and 2) there is more reliable mail delivery to the office than to home for packages and the like.

EA is, indeed, executive assistant, i.e. secretary.

I be looking for those toothpicks from all the haters above!

You know who you are, betting against Illinois like that.........

No respect for being disrespected all these years, yes, Illinois we love you.

If only because you came thru this one time.

Now, make those the round picks, not those cheap flat picks........lol

And make sure those toothpicks are purchased from Walmart.
