borgranta Posted March 17, 2020 at 06:43 AM Share Posted March 17, 2020 at 06:43 AM If they do this then this will free up deputies currently assigned to the jail to patrol the street in order to prevent looter and rioters. The looter and rioters can then be shot and end up cuffed to hospital beds instead of in jail.

EngChi Posted March 19, 2020 at 05:59 PM Share Posted March 19, 2020 at 05:59 PM Isnt this one of the reasons people are buying firearms right now like in no other time (especially first time buyers)? what happens that people who are then released now need to feed themselves? there aren't any jobs for them (especially remote work) how is this going to help general public? If someone is too dangerous to be let out they wouldnt have a bail amount. Otherwise everyone else thats in there is just too poor to bond out. Innocent until proven guilty. I don't think the jail is full of "nice" people that just picked up from their jobs, if your in the poky you probably deserved a little time to reflect on your life anyhow. County jail has two kinds of adult residents, am I wrong? 1. Awaiting trial, whether a bail amount has been set or not. 2. Serving a jail sentence for a misdemeanor conviction, where one can be sentenced for up to a year.

Mike Remember Were talking about the Cook County system here.... you know the one thats infamous for plea dealing down to lesser charges. Also look at past examples of revolving door criminals that get caught and released so many more times before they tick off a states atty enough that they finally decide to get serious and continue the trial process.
