How soon can I take CCL renewal class?

You can take the class anytime but cant apply any sooner than 90 days prior to expiration. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Several of us, instructor and non-instructor, with an expiration date of 2/28 have already applied. November 29 would be 90 days.

The 90 day warning on the ISP website refers to FOIDs. See post #93 on page 3 below and following posts.

Take the class any time, the certificates do not expire. Renew between 120 and 60 days before expiration.

I'm running a class December 1st. https://www.alphakoncepts.com/concealed-carry-license-renewal-class/

ETA: someone swho me in the law or administrative rules where certificates expire.

I would think the renewal certificate would be good up to your expiration date. After that wouldn't you be back to taking again a 16 hour course?

Yes, I believe if your license has expired, and you have not applied for renewal, you will have to start over. Perhaps there will be an appeals process for this but I am pretty sure numerous people who let their FOID expire and therefore had their concealed carry licenses revoked, did have to start from scratch and take another 16 hour class.

I certainly have no expertise. If your other training qualifiers for partial credit, ex -military, ex-police, etc. do not expire, why would your FCCL training expire?

Neither the firearm concealed carry licensing act nor the JCAR approved administrative rules contain any language about expiration. In order that training certificates were to expire, the ISP would have to propose new rules to JCAR and JCAR would have to approve. Until then...

On September 11th 2018, at 11:47 am, I sent an email to the ISP. I said,

Do the 16 hour and or 3 hour training certificates expire?

Not one minute later (if I am reading my email headers correctly) the ISP replied and said:

No, they do not.

If anyone lets their ccl expire before renewing then I wish you the best luck getting the ISP to accept your renewal certificate on a late application.

Who is going to volunteer to prove which is right?

If these certificates never expire then why not now at renewal resubmit your original certificate or in 5 years resubmit this current renewal certificate? I wonder how that will go over.

I admit i do have an authoritative answer.

Although a renewal training certificate does not expire, it can only be used for a single renewal application. The training certificate that I received last month is good for my present application for renewal. I cannot use it again in 5 years for my next renewal. I will have to get retraining and a new certificate. There have been several posts about people delaying for an extended period of time on their original application. Maybe they are short of money or not sure that they want the responsibility of carrying.

Renewals Class can be taken anytime. There is no date of expiration on 3 hour renewal Certificates. Get it done early as other said you want to reapply 90 days prior to your conceal carry permit expiration. I believe 120 days if you didn't do fingerprints the first time. Fingerprints are saved in the system. They do not need to be redone.

If you need training. I am in Orland Park area I have my own private range. I will also travel to you if you have a place to shoot and multiple people lined up. fastest way to Contact me is via email TheDynamicResponse@gmail.com

Does someone have the phone number to call for having pass lock out number I need help please

If you have forgotten your password and can't reset it, I believe there is no one you can call for assistance.

This has been discussed on another thread. Looks like the easiest way is to create a new account. I have not done this so I can't really say. Read the thread.

Best of luck.
