The language for Firearm Dealer License Certification has not been added to the official IL Administrative Code yet, so we still do not know what these changes are..

Good afternoon Molly, didn't see the definition of a non-retail location. Has that changed in the FDLC from the last definition they used prior.

It appears to me that the way they have worded the definition of "retail location" it includes anything other than gun shows or shooting events. I hope I am wrong, but it appears that home based guys will fall under the definition of "retail location".

Good afternoon Molly, didn't see the definition of a non-retail location. Has that changed in the FDLC from the last definition they used prior.

Gleaned from the rules and regs:

1) The certification fee for an FFL held by a person operating without a retail location, as defined by Section 5-5 of the Act, shall be $300 for each application submitted.

From the statute:

(430 ILCS 68/5-5)

"Retail location" means a store open to the public from which a certified licensee engages in the business of selling, transferring, or facilitating a sale or transfer of a firearm. For purposes of this Act, the World Shooting and Recreational Complex, a gun show, or similar event at which a certified licensee engages in business from time to time is not a retail location.
