seanc Posted October 20, 2020 at 03:27 PM Share Posted October 20, 2020 at 03:27 PM Can Kim Foxx bring down the whole ticket? Looks like state-wide Dems might not get a boost from straight ticket voters in Crook County due to Kim Foxx: https://www.cookrepublicanparty.com/new-poll-has-judge-pat-obrien-surging-and-within-single-digits-of-embattled-incumbent-kim-foxx/ 47.1% — Kim Foxx40.6% — Pat O’Brien9.8% — Undecided Odds are, she's still going to win re-election, but the fact that people will be ballot splitting may mean the blue tidal wave of Chicago-area votes isn't going to bouyee the rest of the ticket as much. May make some other races tighter than they would have been. National party affiliation poll recently showed R+1. Usually, Dems count on at least D+4 to win nationally, and more like D+15 in Illinois. If Crook County is this close, what does that say for the prospects for Durbin & Biden? MRE Posted October 20, 2020 at 03:32 PM Share Posted October 20, 2020 at 03:32 PM This is less about D vs R than strictly a strong voting block against Kim Foxx. There is bi-partisan dislike for her, and it will likely have zero impact on other races that matter.
Euler Posted November 4, 2020 at 12:42 PM Share Posted November 4, 2020 at 12:42 PM As I post this, O'Brien is 8% ahead of Foxx, 50.9% to 42.7%. Meanwhile, in US rep districts 3, 6, and 11, State senate district 10, and State rep districts 19, 20, 35, 37, 47, 49, 52, 54, and 82 (all Cook County), Rs lead Ds. I haven't checked what the incumbents are, but some of those could easily be flips. There are still plenty of votes to be counted yet, too. If there are flips, I'd go with the riots as the explanation. Riots and Smollett explain O'Brien over Foxx.

All i can find is an article that obrien conceded the race last night? Don't look for news articles. Look at the county clerk site for each county. They're the ones that count and report the votes. mikeyk101 Posted November 4, 2020 at 01:53 PM Share Posted November 4, 2020 at 01:53 PM The Cook County Clerk results only show suburban totals dont include the results for Chicago. You have to combine both of those. Once you do, you will see that somehow, the stupid walk amongst us and Foxx retains her position. Jeffrey Posted November 4, 2020 at 04:39 PM Share Posted November 4, 2020 at 04:39 PM Jussie is probably pretty happy right now. Chicagoans deserve her. Sorry to the Chicagoans on here. The body counts in the city don't matter as much as some claimed they did. Back to business as usual.

seanc Posted November 5, 2020 at 05:43 PM Author Share Posted November 5, 2020 at 05:43 PM O'brian is a Democrat. I'm not sure what the choice was here. This was what a civilized society does/doesn't do with it's criminal class. If you can't see that, then you're stuck on D vs. R.
