Mike Cornwall Posted December 17, 2014 at 05:29 PM Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 05:29 PM Does anyone else here use Tapatalk? Ever since the last "update" Tapatalk will no longer Mark Entire Forum as Read. It says it's dong it but it actually does not do it. Is anyone else seeing this? I'm posting this here because that function 9s working on other forums that I use Tapatalk for. Only this forum fails to execute the command. Thanks. narcoden Posted December 17, 2014 at 05:31 PM Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 05:31 PM The new version blows. They wrecked a perfectly functioning layout. Maybe there is a way to switch it back, I haven't dug through all the settings yet.
Uncle Harley Posted December 17, 2014 at 05:49 PM Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 05:49 PM I think the new version sucks too if anybody finds a way to switch back to an older version let me know . Silly question though why would someone want to mark an entire forum read ? Sent from my KFOT using Tapatalk
framos242 Posted December 17, 2014 at 06:09 PM Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 06:09 PM Google for an apk file (android) of a previous version and install it. Looking for one myself.
Glock23 Posted December 17, 2014 at 06:14 PM Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 06:14 PM They completely destroyed Tapatalk, as far as I'm concerned. Everything is buried in submenus, so simple browsing is no longer possible. There is zero difference in the appearance of a topic that is read/unread, even though there are options to change the appearance of each... simply doesn't work. Marking something as read doesn't actually mark it as read. I thought viewing the "unread" section would be acceptable while they (hopefully) fix this pile of crap, but when trying to mark that section as read, it changed everything to having not been read....... The function of jumping to the first unread post now jumps to the post before the first unread post. No longer can I view an entire topic, complete with announcements and stickies... if I want to see announcements and stickies, I have to vew them separately, after navigating through each separate topic's submenus. I could go on, but it'd be pointless. For now, I get by using the timeline view and simply skip over topics I have no interest in.
Mr. Fife Posted December 17, 2014 at 06:42 PM Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 06:42 PM Why not just report the problem to the developer?
BIGDEESUL Posted December 17, 2014 at 06:54 PM Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 06:54 PM Yeah, this version sucks! Oh, it's been reported to the developer. Look at the reviews for tapatalk. Everyone is giving it one star due to the update.
Jen-in-Normal Posted December 17, 2014 at 07:29 PM Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 07:29 PM Darn, I'll make sure not to upgrade. Mark all as read is something I use every time I check the forum. Let's hope this is added back in.

stm Posted December 18, 2014 at 03:59 AM Share Posted December 18, 2014 at 03:59 AM The new Tapatalk SUCKS! Thankfully, the tablet version hasn't changed yet. milq Posted December 18, 2014 at 04:48 AM Share Posted December 18, 2014 at 04:48 AM I updated on iOS a few days ago, mine works fine. However, i use mine to go straight to unread topics as soon as I click on a forum. If I have to dig around for an old topic I usually go to the computer. Mike Cornwall Posted December 18, 2014 at 01:53 PM Author Share Posted December 18, 2014 at 01:53 PM My usual practice had been to show all unread, scroll thru and read/participate where interested, then mark all read so I don't have to see the same unread/unparticipated-in the next time. That only works here at the website now. I did report to the developer however other forums I used Tapatalk for *ARE* correctly marking the entire thing as read when I hit that menu item. So it's a unique interaction between the new Tapatalk and Illinoiscarry. I'm not too hopeful.

I have to do the mark all as read 4-5-6 times before it finally marks them all and comes back no new topics. Try doing it multiple times.

Trevis Posted December 21, 2014 at 09:02 PM Share Posted December 21, 2014 at 09:02 PM Just uninstalled crapatalk. It has been frustrating me for far too long. I bought pro a while ago, then they rereleased it under a different company name, and the money I spent was for naught. After all the horrible updates, and other issues, I'm done. I need to spend less time on forums anyway.

Posted my scathing review on Play. "Switched my five star rating to one. New version is too busy, confusing, can't even figure out how to post a new topic. I don't need "trending" etc., all I want is "unread". Unneeded graphics take up valuable screen space. Train wreck. If it isn't broken, don't "fix" it. Bring back Pro." brianj - now in Kansas Posted December 31, 2014 at 11:08 PM Share Posted December 31, 2014 at 11:08 PM For Goodness' sake: if you use iOS, do not upgrade to the most recent Tapatalk under any circumstances. Until last night, it was cumbersome but workable. The upgrade came in overnight, an the new product is utterly unusable. I don't know if there is another company out there that uses the Tapatalk APIs, but I'm going to be looking.
