Gov. Issues Shelter in Place Order - Firearm & Ammo dealers exempt

This feels like Soviet Russia.

I stood in a long bread line this morning, trying to buy basic supplies at Sam's Club (and ended up only being able to purchase about 1/2 what I needed). And now I'm being told I cannot leave my house unless on "government approved" business. This is no longer America... It's what happens when globalist socialists get elected and when anti-freedom authoritarians show their true colors.

His logic escapes me. You are allowed to go to the grocery store or gas station BUT the workers that stock the shelves, bake the bread , deliver the milk, groceries and gas etc. are required to shelter in place.

I don't believe he said that. As a matter of fact, I think the opposite is the case.

I'm no Pritzker fan. That said, I think he made a point of not only giving examples of various places that would not be affected by the "shelter in place" order, but he also said that these business's employees need to continue showing up for work.

With all due respect to all here, this thing obviously isn't great. Let's not make it worse than it is.

No, that's not what this is at all, and if you were at Sam's Club, you were buying a bunch of Chinese made goods, and you probably got infected...

The price of freedom, is that you have to take accountability and responsibility for yourself. Global socialists didn't cause this virus, and anti-freedom authoritarians aren't the cause of it either.

This. I can also give credit to Trump for taking some hard steps on things... Right now, we have to be on war-time footing, and we have to come together and not have the bickering and partisan BS keep us from facing an enemy who moves silently and is attacking our population right now.

I have my CC renewal class this Sunday. It's already paid for and non-refundable, so I'm going. I don't care what JB says.

I wouldn't need to do this if we didn't have all these unconstitutional gun "laws" in this stupid state.

It's a small class of under 10 people anyway and probably very little risk.

I have to take mine in a few months. I am sitting tight for the foreseeable future though. The grocery store is where this stuff is going to be spreading right now the most...

They let him out of the wrong house to begin with.

And "Jabba" isn't going to tell me that I can't go help a 90+ parent who lives about 12 miles away. :pinch:

Unless it's an emergency, please don't risk spreading something to your 90+ year old parent. Or go there, and stay there. Seriously. This is not the time to be playing games with your health and the health of your family.

Pritzker's preening about all of this is absolutely insufferable.

"Of all the obligations that weigh on me as governor, this is the greatest. If there are actions that I can take to save lives in the midst of this pandemic, no matter how difficult, then I have an obligation to take these actions.”

An 'obligation', unless it means something like delaying the tens of thousands of people in close quarters that the primary vote was. But that would hamper his political ambitions, so those people can just die. He'll do anything 'no matter how difficult', but he won't donate a red cent of the $3.2 billion he got from his rich papa while he literally bans people from their jobs.

He's an egotistical self-serving piece of trash, but he'll never face a single solitary consequence for anything, he'll never get properly called out on it, and no matter how much damage he does he'll just stay comfortably in power and cruise to re-election.

He doesn't care, but he'll tell everyone that he can seize whatever power and issue whatever edict he wants because he cares so much more than everyone else, and the common folk should just smile at his benevolence.

“I fully recognize, in some cases, I am choosing between saving people’s lives and saving people’s livelihoods. But ultimately you can’t have a livelihood if you don’t have your life,”

Says the guy who's never had to work a day or face a hardship in his life, and could cover all those people's costs out of his own pocket and barely put a dent in his own luxury, but won't.

He's more sickening than the virus.
