A deal reached between key House and Senate lawmakers on VA oversight also included an expansion of benefits for veteran caregivers, as well as a plan to initiate a systematic review of VA infrastructure, with the intention of disposing of aging and underused facilities nationwide.When Congress unveiled its $1.3 trillion, 2,232-page bill Wednesday evening, the VA reforms had been omitted.Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., and Sen. I have a VA appointment this afternoon. I will drive 53 miles one way to receive the second, in a series of two, shingles vaccinations. I could easily get the same vaccination from my personal physician, 4 miles from my house.The VA is the largest bureaucracy in the Federal Government. Throwing money at it, does not translate to better healthcare for the individual veteran. It just makes the bureaucracy bigger. And more expensive furniture in VA regional directors offices. tchostler Posted November 13, 2018 at 07:59 PM Share Posted November 13, 2018 at 07:59 PM yes the government does a poor job of taking care of those who suffer loss defending this nation. my generation was agent orange. i remember how the government denied for many years that there was a problem with the chemicals when the labels clearly were marked that it could cause cancer. i truly thought this administration was making an effort to fix some problems the last exacerbated, maybe not.
