chancemccall Posted September 14, 2018 at 12:09 AM Share Posted September 14, 2018 at 12:09 AM I believe it would be helpful to post a list of pro gun candidates and the phone/email/physical address of their campaign headquarters so all the people reading here could contact the campaign staff and volunteer to help. Helping someone to get elected goes farther than just letters asking someone to vote for or against something. It certainly goes farther than just sounding off on this and other forums. Some may be able to write checks to the campaign or talk others into writing checks. Others are not in that position but volunteering to walk precincts, or make phone calls, or just sort stuff will be remembered. You might even help someone you like win instead of lose their race. I've done it before and everyone in the room stuffing envelopes, making calls and such will stop what they're doing and just stare at you in shock. The person in charge will probably ask what you'd like to do. I knew what I wanted to do and it was to put up yard signs for people who had requested them. Got a list of addresses and loaded my truck full of signs and put them up for a couple of days. Was over 15 yrs ago and my guy lost, but to this day the guy still appreciates me walking in off the street and offering what I could to help. Walked into Oberweis's office in the Gov. primary race and got walked into his office to meet him and was given a title(unpaid of course) before I left. Might still have the nice magnetic name tag they gave me. I was an extra in one of his commercials too on the dairy assembly line. Tonia is running for the vacated seat held by longtime Republican, Mike Fortner. I can emphatically say that I endorse Tonia. I specifically asked her about 2nd amendment rights (she is a NRA and ISRA member and a concealed carry licensee) and without hesitation promised me (haha, politician promises ) that she would not vote for any limiting gun registrations such as magazine size limits, "assault weapon" bans, etc. Her subsequent response was that those gun regulations will do nothing as they don't address the source of the problem! *finally someone that gets it* If you are in the 49th district, make sure you get out and vote for Tonia. Not only is she a solid proponent for 2A issues, she is an overall fantastic conservative candidate who I believe can help right the ship in Springfield. We need many more like her.
