InterestedBystander Posted March 4, 2018 at 10:11 PM Share Posted March 4, 2018 at 10:11 PM Thoughts? For the Republican primary, Kinzler is getting the recommendation from the Trib and Suntimes while Orozco got the DailyHerald nod. Kinzler's web site issues section states: 2nd AmendmentI own firearms not just for recreational purposes, but to protect my family against criminals and government tyranny. The right for Americans to keep and bear arms must not be infringed. Some Kinzler media endorsements indicate:..."He also favors reasonable restrictions on who can buy guns to keep them from people who will do harm to others."... NotEnoughSand Posted March 20, 2018 at 04:27 PM Share Posted March 20, 2018 at 04:27 PM I can't find any solid info on Orozco. Kinzler supports the state gun dealer licensing scheme and dodged the SunTime's question on Lethal Violence Orders of Protection. I'm probably just going to abstain. Kinzler supports the state gun dealer licensing scheme and dodged the SunTime's question on Lethal Violence Orders of Protection. I'm probably just going to abstain. I was leaning Kinzler until i dug into his gun stances. I'm not really sure anymore, i may abstain too. Unfortunately Conroy runs unopposed so i cant take a Dem ballot and vote against her. We really need Conroy out.

InterestedBystander Posted March 20, 2018 at 07:36 PM Author Share Posted March 20, 2018 at 07:36 PM Updated Kinzler from SunTimes Roger Orozco did not participate in the Sun-Times endorsement process. TOPIC: GunsQUESTION: Do you support a state ban on gun silencers? Please explain. ANSWER: Silencers are not the main problem related to gun issues. Reducing the sound, a gun makes can reduce hearing loss for sportsmen. Not sure of the benefit to restrict them. Gun still makes a loud noise with them. QUESTION: Should all gun dealers in Illinois be licensed by the state? Please explain ANSWER: Yes, I think there needs to be reasonable checks to make sure guns cannot be purchased by those who will do harm to others with them. QUESTION: Should family members be empowered to petition courts for the temporary removal of guns from emotionally or mentally disturbed people who may be a danger to themselves or others? Please explain. ANSWER: Yes, I dont think the emotionally or mentally disturbed should even have guns.
