InterestedBystander Posted July 15, 2019 at 01:57 PM Share Posted July 15, 2019 at 01:57 PM http://archive.aweber.com/awlist4894361/7YiOd/t/ISRA_Alert_July_17_Meet.htm ISRA Alert: Meet the Gun-Grabbers - Town Hall Meeting in Franklin Park July 17, 7:00pm to 8:30pm, The Centre at North Park, 10040 Addison Ave, Franklin Park, IL Summary: Anti-Gun Representative Kathleen Willis and Anti-Gun Senator Dan Harmon are holding this open meeting in a public building during evening hours. You need to attend and make your voice heard. Anti-gun legislators responsible for the closing of up to several hundred FFLs, mostly small businesses, and many in rural areas, are holding a town hall meeting. Kathleen Willis has pushed SB1966, which would penalize FOID holders, past the IL House and is trying for Senate passage with her sponsor Julie Morrison. (this is the same Senator Morrison recently seen on video calling for confiscation of your semi-automatic firearms) Who: Representative Kathleen Willis and State Senator Dan Harmon, along with fellow representative Camille Lilly Where: The Centre at North Park, 10040 Addison Ave, Franklin Park, IL. This is a facility of the Franklin Park Park District. When: July 17, 7:00pm to 8:30pm What: Town Hall Meeting, open to the public. • The meeting is being held in a public place in park district facilities, and announced as open to the public, no one has mentioned "registration". • Get there early to get a seat. Form a carpool and bring your friends. • Think about the recent legislative attempts, think about your local FFL going out of business, think about giving Kathleen Willis your fingerprints. Now think up two good questions in advance of attending. • You have your smartphone, but consider bringing your video camera. "Legislators say the darnedest things", let's capture those precious moments, together. • Wear your favorite Second Amendment clothing. Why is it important to go? • After years of trying, Kathleen Willis and Dan Harmon have finally managed to pass a Gun Dealer License act that is already seeing many small rural FFLs close up shop. This threatens to chill the availability of firearms and ammunition for self-defense and sport in all corners of the state. • The actual implementation of the Gun Dealer Licensing is a fiasco and may be unmanageable. • Kathleen Willis wants you to pay a fine for being a gun owner, and wants to take your fingerprints, treating you like a criminal. • Kathleen Willis wants to ban all firearms private transactions, unless they go through decreasing number of newly Illinois-Licensed FFLs for a price-controlled fee that the FFLs can't function under • Kathleen Willis, Dan Harmon and the other anti-gunners really want to take all of your firearms, and think the steps above are incremental, the things they can get away with now. • Kathleen Willis' and Dan Harmon's actions impact all Illinois Gun Owners, you and your friends need to share this with them. Get there. Get there early, get there on time, but get there. Talking points on SB1966: • Blames lawful gun owners for sensationalized violence committed by prohibited persons. • Attempts to make gun ownership a financial and procedural hardship. • Requires fingerprints to exercise a constitutional right. • Bans private transfers that already occur under a background check. • Unlawfully sets price controls on FFL and fingerprint services. Raw Power Posted July 15, 2019 at 02:12 PM Share Posted July 15, 2019 at 02:12 PM I hope they get taken to task for forcing small business to close around the state. Their garbage bill did nothing to make anyone safer. That was a move to make it harder to get guns, nothing less, but it's also just their first step. They want nothing short of confiscation. markthesignguy Posted July 18, 2019 at 03:41 AM Share Posted July 18, 2019 at 03:41 AM There was a member of IGOT that asked them collectively about their support for Constitutional Carry. ALL THREE (Harmon, Willis(the worst) and Lilly) all got severe cases of the vapors. That WAS fun. We did the best that we could, but nothing like Mike W's Morrison zinger happened. I tried to point out that Willis's "interpretation" of Constitutional Carry as Willis stated it, was faulty.Plenty of "Brady isms" in her spew. As for the lawsuit, Harmon waffled privately about effective dates of when certain things "kick in".("You can't tell ME (mtsg speaking) that you are unaware of the ISRA lawsuit....") edit: Like an airplane pilot answers: 44 souls on board .... yes that includes the politicians and whatever staff they had there.
