You'd think that addressing carjacking would be his top priority, but he historically has ignored real crime while trying to create new laws that would make criminals out of otherwise law-abiding gun owners and the owners of gun stores. Unfortunately, the majority of people in Oak Park think the same way he does. They probably even blame their carjacking problem on guns, even though many of the carjackings have been done by carjackers flashing knives or just making verbal threats. There have been many cases where a woman has gotten out of her car and is quickly surrounded by 3 hugs who demand her keys and her valuables, done without a firearm. Without the carjacking aspect - its called strong arm robbery and it happens 4 to 5 hundred times a year just on the CTA in Chicago.
Oak Park is a big echo chamber for failed leftist ideas and they're incapable of realizing that their ideas about crime and gun control are wrong.
