t1ryder4life Posted January 28, 2020 at 03:04 AM Share Posted January 28, 2020 at 03:04 AM My foid card got cracked in my wallet so i logged in to order a replacement card. It gave a warning saying that until my new card is printed my current card would be invalid. Does that mean i will technically not have a foid card after proccessing my replacement card order until they print/mail my replacement card? Molly B. Posted January 28, 2020 at 03:17 AM Share Posted January 28, 2020 at 03:17 AM As far as I understand, that is correct. Wrong on every level to invalidate a Foid while processing a replacement.

Im going to try to get some verification from the isp These are the rules the state of Illinois has come up with. if it seems like the state is making up unreasonable rules to make it difficult to live within the laws, we’ll they are. Votes have consequences. just live with your cracked FOID until 90 days before it expires.

Im going to try to get some verification from the isp I cannot find anything in the FOID law that says your card has to be in pristine condition to use it. Put some clear tape on it or get one of those clear plastic sleeves for ID or snapshots at Office Depot or other stationary store. Unless some merchant refuses to accept it, do not replace it until renewal comes up. You can always go to a different merchant, too.My old one had a big crack and was falling apart, but I had no problem buying ammo. Looking at it you can tell its the same card but i figured no one would accept it for anything Why worry about it unless it gets rejected by a seller? It looks like you can apply for renewal in less than 9 months without paying the extra charge and hassle of replacement. You are still in compliance now. Apply for a replacement and you may wait a long time before you can buy ammunition or a firearm. When I buy ammunition, the dealer just glances at my FOID. There is no check with ISP. I think it would be the same with a gun purchase in that the seller just enters your FOID number. They do not send a picture of your ugly card to the ISP.
