We have a pair of 3 hour renewals on the afternoon of August 18 or 19. Only $35, so come on down and enjoy the area!

Also, for those busy with church or work on weekends, there is a split 16 hour class on consecutive Mondays: August 27 & September 3rd (Labor Day).

These will be held at the Murphysboro PD range near Riverside Park.

Update:

The August 18th renewal class is nearly sold out. There are still several slots left for the August 19th renewal, and the split 16 hour CCL.

Looking forward to seeing some of you there!

What time is the class on the 19th? If I can get out of church in time I would like to take that class. My church is usually out around12:15 and it will take about an hour to get to Murphysboro. Your web sight says you shoot at the Murphysboro pd range. Don’t know where that is but if it isn’t west of Murphy I should be able to make it by 1:30 or shortly thereafter.

My church is near Carbondale you'd be welcome to come we're 25 minutes from Murphysboro. We start at 9:30 and usually are done by 11:00. Some of our members are taking Speedbumps classes on Labor Day and the Monday before.

BTW Our church is not a Criminal Protection Zone, if you come you may carry if you like. You won't be the only one!

Birdhunter, no prob. JungleBob, good point...many churches could learn from the preparedness of several in our area.

Just did the renewal with speedbump.

Just a great guy and definitely knows his stuff. Enjoyed the class and was time well spent.

Should have done the original 8 hour class with him!!

Hoping to get some more training from him.

$35 for this one again? Are we planning on overthrowing the county gov afterwards to dispute election results, it would be fun? I verified with Mrs Birdhunter1, Iâm available on the 9th for it. How many rounds should I bring and is there any holster you donât allow on your range (I know some instructors are weird about Serpa holsters and mine is somewhat similar in function)? 100 rounds will be plenty, depending on weather, and your holster will be ok. I'll look at it when you get there to see what's up with it.

For reference I've carried it just about everyday for the last 8 or 9 years and have yet to have a stupid shooting with it and it hasn't jumped out and run amock on its own yet.

Most of the issues with Serpas is during the draw stroke...since the trigger finger is pushing the release lever, some continue pressing in and down during the draw stroke. Boom.....

Amazing how people can't figure that out till their leg is leaking.

This one makes a serpa look like a ziploc bag, its much more robust.

It was a good class, several good stories and a pretty easy environment.
