mauserme Posted March 10, 2019 at 07:11 PM Share Posted March 10, 2019 at 07:11 PM OUTRAGE! Outrage at attempts to ban common firearms and accessories! Outrage at gun confiscation! Outrage at storage and fingerprint requirements! Outrage at penalty enhancements and outrage at gun taxes! We are outraged at being treated like criminals while violent offenders walk our streets! This week our Call to Action changes focus to include an urgent need for phone calls to members of the Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee, and to your district Illinois Senators. In the Senate, SB107 Assault Weapon Ban has been assigned to the Judiciary Committee to potentially be considered for debate by the full Senate. This bill, and any like it, must be stopped! Beginning Tuesday, March 12, please call each of the committee members in their Springfield offices: Senator John G. Mulroe(217) 782-1035 Senator Rachelle Crowe(217) 782-5247 Senator Ann Gillespie(217) 782-4471 Senator Don Harmon(217) 782-8176 Senator Michael E. Hastings(217) 782-9595 Senator Toi W. Hutchinson(217) 782-7419 Senator Elgie R. Sims, Jr.(217) 782-3201 Senator Jason A. Barickman(217) 782-6597 Senator Paul Schimpf(217) 782-8137 Senator Jil Tracy(217) 782-2479 To those Senators who would consider voting in favor of SB107 or any variation of a firearm, accessory, or ammunition ban, politely but firmly express your opposition and ask them to oppose these ill-conceived infringements as well. To those Senators who join our opposition, express your thanks and words of encouragement. While making these calls, also reach out to your own Illinois Senators. Make them aware of Amendment 1 onSB44, a proposal to confiscate firearms without compensation, with no opportunity to place the firearms with another FOID card holder, and with no provision for eventual return of the firearms when appropriate. This amendment is a gun grab at it's very worst! If you are a veteran tell your Senator that, as a military veteran, confiscation of private property cannot be the embodiment of American Freedom the sponsor fought for. Springfield contact information can be found here. Also beginning March 12, let's melt a few phones on SB44! Finally, as we approach the end of the House Committee bills list, we have several in need of opposition witness slips. Bills ranging from gun taxes, bans, rate of fire based penalties, and an effort to treat responsible use of prescribed medication as an addiction to illegal drugs. And HB3170 Machine Gun - Penalties - gratuitous legislation in search of a problem. Remember to log in to your account first, if you have one! junglebob Posted March 10, 2019 at 10:28 PM Share Posted March 10, 2019 at 10:28 PM All slips filed . To bad others can't file on all the bills. Witness slips done. BTW if you get a message that you've already submitted a slip on a bill it doesn't count it again does it? It is a big list of bills. If half the people on the forum,5000 plus folks, filed a witness slip on say 4 bills it would amount to some big numbers shown in opposition. BTW my Senator Paul Schimpf ®is rated AQ by NRA, highest rating for non-incumbent. Took office in January 2017. Maybe the list of Senators to call should have their district and party behind their name. I'm calling upstate democrats first.
