Weatherby Vanguard Heavy Barrel
Ruger American Predator
Mag-wise, it's kind of a wash because I wouldn't need to buy mags for the Weatherby and I already own plenty of AR mags that I could use with the RA Predator. Barrel length doesn't make a huge difference to me, just want something 20" or longer so both work for that. I'm assuming the Vanguard is a 2 series based on the MOA gurantee and 2 stage trigger though it doesn't state it is. Twist rate is a wash too, I probably won't use anything over 69 gr so both should be able to handle what I'd use.

Personally I'd have to go with the weatherby.
But I am curious what the silhouette of the Ruger would look like with a 5 rd magazine./

IF the Weatherby is the Howa 1500 action THEN it’s the one I’d get. Have one in ‘06 that’s awesome. Either way you are going to enjoy!
It is in fact the one made by Howa. It's a Series 2, so it has the better trigger and 3 position safety.
I'm leaning hard towards the Weatherby, actually mainly waiting for my FFL to be "approved" by CDNN so I can order it. I'm planning on shooting it as is and saving up for a Boyd's At-One stock.

did you have a look at savage at all they do make a vary good rifle https://www.cabelas....FLE/1994604.uts
I did actually, we happened to be in Peoria on Monday so I stopped by Bass Pro. They had the 12FV in 6.5 Creedmore on hand so I took a look at it. I ended up deciding the 26" barrel was a bit more than I was looking for. I also forgot how bad the OEM Savage stocks are (I replaced both of mine). With a shorter barrel I would really have thought about it though. I ended up ordering the Vanguard Monday night, should be here Thursday though I won't get it til at least Friday.
