Mossberg MC1sc Handgun 9mm

They actually entered a crowded market with some good innovation.

For those in the mechanical safety camp the cross bolt trigger seems to split the difference between active and passive safety.

The idea being you would deactivate the safety just by putting your finger on the trigger. I dunno if that's reversible for leftys or not.

The clear magazines are nice if you're the type of person that cycles out the chambered round when you make the gun safe and carries x+1. Always nice to get the visual check that your at max capacity.

The new handgun is a concealed carriers dream.

I guess we need another limited capacity plastic pistol for concealed carry?

I stopped chasing the dream when I found it was the BHP.

So you're only slightly less old and in your ways then the 1911 boomer, but didn't have the disposable income and foresight to buy a H&k P7M13 when it was available?

While the HP mighta been the original wonder 9 so many good guns were made after even before everything was plastic.

While all plastic guns look the same on the outside if you dig down into their inner workings they're different and have their own characteristics. I carry a p99c, while I won't say it's better or worse I can say it's unique in its own way.

I'm actually impressed with Mossbergs entry into the market. Everyone has their little hangups on perception of safety. Variations on the Glock formula are always welcome to the market.

It's not for me, but if it's reliable I think it will be a hit. Pricepoint, brand loyalty, and differentiators give it a market.

Like you don't have to pull the trigger to strip it, so smaller risk of Glock-wall, Glock-dog, Glock-wife, Glock-neighbor, etc.

Glock wife only happens to law enforcement after a heated argument or years of nagging. "Honey, don't forget to..." "NO! I'M GONNA GO CLEAN MY GLOCK!".

The trigger pull for takedown doesn't bother me, but again, everyone has their wierd safety hangups, which is why there's a market for Glock competitors. I personally wouldn't appendix carry a Glock, but people do all the time. Personal comfort in safety is a huge feature on guns that doesn't get talked about enough because it's not really tangible beyond being drop safe.

Looks like a fine handgun to me. Being a Mossberg is no stranger than buying one of the many fine polymer pistols from that great company in Geneseo, IL that are really made in Croatia. IMHO

I tend however to shy away from the first issue of anything and wait for the early adopters to discover the bugs and the factory to make the needed alterations. This one does look like it has promise however. When they hit my LGS I'll have to try one on for size.
