Guess what kind of candidates he'll be supporting? Hint: it's not pro-gun ones.

Time to start writing your Republican and Democratic reps, and let them know that we'll be watching, and that they aren't commodities to be purchased by billionaires.

500 Million, not Billion but that is still a huge number. Gun makers need to get together and nut up, put forth equal monies to elect pro gun candidates. They earned a mint in the post AWB era, its time they give back if they want to sell more than Franken-Cali-Compliant guns in the future.

Typing too fast is never a good idea.

It's not just gun makers that need to shell out, we as gun owners need to start thinking about demanding that all our options for elected officials are pro-gun.

That said, elections are getting more and more expensive, and this means that the candidates have to be better financially positioned to be viable. I don't want JB and Rauner being our options anymore... or Bloomberg, or Soros, or Bazos, or Gates, or Trump for that matter. None of these people have no clue what the average American deals with.

Being realistic "gun owners" will never put enough together to deal with all of the anti gun millionaires and billionaires in a coordinated matter. We need gun makers to pool their resources and put forth that sort of cash. Honestly even if all the big boys got together, it'd be unrealistic to expect them to spend 500 mil. 100 mil? Maybe.

43% of households owned guns in 2018. That means that there are at least 30 million gun owners in the US (probably closer to 50 million). If each one donated $10, that's 300 million.

He’s not buying an election. He’s exercising his first amendment rights. You and I have same right to do the same thing. Sack up.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-12-07/trump-campaign-nra-illegally-coordinated-ads-group-tells-fec

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign may have illegally coordinated with the National Rifle Association in the final weeks of the 2016 presidential election, two watchdog groups said in a complaint filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission.

The NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action and its political action committee, the NRA Political Victory Fund, placed $25 million worth of television ads through the same ad-buying executives who also arranged spots for Trump’s campaign.

That ensured that “spending by both the NRA and the Trump campaign would be complementary and advance a unified, coordinated election strategy,” according to the complaint brought by the Campaign Legal Center, which favors greater regulation of money in politics, and the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, a gun safety group.

“How dare the NRA and the Trump campaign spend $25 million to elect candidates that aren’t for gun control. That does it! I’m going to be a hypocrite and spend $500 million to elect those that want my agenda because I’m always right”

As to the bolded part, nothing needs to be said

I’m not an attorney but I watched Perry Mason as a child. And LA Law in my early 20s.

I think you are comparing apples and Toyota’s. For bloomy- it’s his money and he is not a candidate. Yet. So sack up and don’t whine that his money-FU is probably more powerful and effective than your Twitter-FU.

On the Donald, there seem to be some campaign laws against candidates directing funds from PACs, NGOs, etc. if there are and he broke them- shame on him.

Bloomy is not a hypocrite. He is a sanctimonious ***** who thinks he knows what’s right for the rest of us. Don’t confuse the two. He’s a smart dude.

I agree, he's a smart guy... However, doing something legal isn't the same as doing something moral. However if someone has that much money they probably think that they know what's better for me than I do. It goes with the territory. The Daley's all have the same problem, and they're a lot less well-off.

Bloomberg is the perfect example of the hypocrisy of the "elite". When he left the office of the Mayor of NYC, he hired away over 50 police officers to serve as his personal security detail. All of them armed of course, and given carry licenses that are essentially impossible to get for the average law abiding citizen. And yes, I said over 50. His travels are like those of a President with a Secret Service detail. Yet he is totally committed to disarming us, I guess because he is the Lord of the Manor and we are just the peasants laboring in his fields. And of course, because he is so anti-gun, and gives tons of cash to Left wing politicians, the radical Left never complains or threatens him or his fortune, which is of course part of the reason he gives them so much cash. As Rush says, it keeps the townspeople from coming after him and other Left wing billionaires with their torches and pitchforks.
