Well well well, Senator Harmon is as shady as Madigan

A lot of people wonder how the ILGA can pass such horribly written legislation that is sure to immediately generate lawsuits.

Well now you know.

Those lawsuits line the pockets of politically connected lawyers who litigate the cases for the city, county and state and they plow their earnings back into the Chicago Democratic Party, the Cook County Democratic Party, the Illinois State Democratic Party, Madigan's campaign fund, Cullerton's campaign fund, and any other influential Illinois politicians who enrich them.

Its just another way of diverting money collected from tax payers, like the myriad of other ways of stealing that they engage in.

From the Sun Times article.

" Harmon’s yearly pay as a state senator is $78,163.

He says his law firm salary is less than that but won’t say how much he makes.

Asked whether he gets any additional compensation beside salary, Harmon would say only that his total pay from Burke Burns & Pinelli is less than the governor’s $177,412-a-year salary — the cap on his pay under Illinois ethics law because his firm gets state business."

I think this is interesting he won't say how much he makes from his law firm but he is also a co-sponser of SB982. That is the one that would not allow a presidential or vice-presidential candidate to be put on the ballot unless they have released their tax returns. Jim.

Illinois seems to play fast and loose with the ethics. IMHO, if you're a politician, you should make NOTHING off of the state, and any state contracts that you or your company has when you're elected should be relinquished upon getting sworn in.

Now here's the part that he won't admit to, and that's the fact that while he may not be getting paid over the cap under ethics laws, that's only for when he's in office. The money was still made by his law firm and is just waiting for him.

Honestly these people should be hung from the lamp posts for earning money in this manner. This is the exact definition of crony capitalism and politics. I really don't care what Illinois "ethics" say, this is 100% unethical. Any time in business I've even gotten a whiff of something being unethical, it always was, and I learned later on that I was right.

Madigan's law firm does the same thing when it comes to property taxes. Coincidence that Harmon worked under Madigan? SMDH.

Sadly, no surprise here. This guy personifies a Crook county political hack. This again illustrates that Illinois pols will never recognize the Second Amendment and will do all they can to eliminate gun ownership in their socialist paradise. If it passes the House and Rauner vetoes it, you can bet for sure that when a Dem gets the governership it will sail through.

I heard a clip on the radio of this bozo justifying his bill, it was sickening to listen to. Would definitely never want to be in a foxhole with this guy.

Harmon won't get his lawmaker's pension once the fund defaults on its obligations. We need to jump on our Senators and Congressmen to pass some sort of legislation permitting states to declare bankruptcy and discharge pension obligations. They don't even need the money, so why give it to them when he has helped create this crisis? Answer, we shouldn't.

Harmon said that we needed to do "something" and implied that this is likely completely pointless. That doesn't bode well for the State defending against a lawsuit. That's like saying you have to rip out your transmission because your motor is acting up. Why? Because "I have to do SOMETHING."

Harmon is the embodiment of the term "cuck".

He's the type of person that was picked on in school, and now he's going to get back at all of us alpha's.

His crocodile tears fool no one.

What's infuriating about him putting his full force behind this bill is the fact that it will not do anything he's claiming it'll do. So you catch some people committing straw purchases. Then what? They'll be let off with a slap on the dang wrist anyway. What good is that? What message does that send to future straw purchasers?

Just a couple blocks west of his Oak Park office, you have an area where no business wants to open, where people have little to no prospects of obtaining a paying job. The communities are not at all safe, mainly because Rahm destroyed the policing strategy and basically eliminated the size of the force. Then you increase taxes on businesses, driving them out and ultimately cause others to look and say "nuh uh, I'm not opening a business there".

This whole "gun violence" problem can be wrapped up and hung right around the neck of the democrats in this state. They've created this. They've created the social conditions, which have spiraled out of control because they've severely crippled law and order in those communities. They ignore the fact that the guns taken into evidence haven't come from gun dealers, and when they were actually purchased in most cases was over a decade or more ago.

Their rationale behind this is "well if we can't stop criminals from breaking into homes and stealing guns, we'll just eliminate people from even having them to steal".

If this somehow gets signed into law, I would hope that we will see a lawsuit hit the courts because this is an infringement on our 2A rights.

When are these stupid sons of you know what going to realize that throwing more money at a problem won't fix it. Take a look at the west and south sides.....do either look like any problems were solved by injecting more public tax dollars into the areas? A lot of good that does when you make it more difficult for the CPD to be effective at their jobs. And then, even when they're able to do their jobs, the courts fail.

I've about had it with this state. With scumbags like Harmon in office, enriching themselves and creating a nice nest egg to be deposited into their account upon leaving office, along with the many other clones of him running our government, this state will just keep on sinking. At some point someone needs to flush this turd of a state down the toilet because it's starting to smell. Our state is full of morons who continue to willingly vote for people that enrich themselves off their backs. They wander into the voting booth, and the only thing they know about the candidate is that it has a D next to their name on the ballot.

That's not how the system works.

Politicians and cronies' pensions will always be paid. They WILL justify paying a six figure pension to a former union boss who worked one day for the city of Chicago, and retired with two juicy pensions. In fact, I predict a secret, non-announced, buyout for these types prior the ultimate bankruptcy of the pension funds, so whatever's left in the funds gets completely looted.

Now, all the other government employees, who are non-cronies, they will see their pensions disappear. They will justify this with 50,000 reasons.

What's infuriating is he is ramming Bloomberg's will down our throat and laws are being passed to gradually take away our rights through corruption like he did after Sandy Hook in Connecticut, New York, Maryland and Colorado. How will this bill catch straw purchasers? Not possible to eliminate straw purchasers as long as guns are for sale and criminals will always have guns and they know it but are using straw purchasing as an excuse to pass laws to gradually take away the guns from the law abiding.

Nothing is being done about straw purchasers who get caught is because they advance their agenda for more gun control, like the girl from Mount Prospect who was found guilty of 4 felony gun charges recently and got probation. All this bill is designed to do is close gun shops by labelling them "bad apple gun dealers" which for them is all gun dealers and that is their ultimate goal. If one of the guns they sold falls in the wrong hands which can happen to any dealer and they can also be set up, they will loose their license and go out of business.

When I was a kid we moved from Chicago to Oak Park. It used to be a cozy little Village and was a great place to grow up. By the time I turned 18, it had gone full blown 100% Berkeley California mode. I mean 100% full on left wing crazy town. The two best days I had there, the day we moved in, and the day I moved out. LOL

I go to Oak Park somewhat frequently and while not all of the people there are wackos, I see enough that fit the anti gun profile (middle aged, female, slightly disheveled appearance, moderately overweight) and when I look at their face, their eyes, the expressions on their faces, all I see is emptiness behind their eyes, along with despair, helped along with the soulless appearance that anti anxiety meds gives them. They're completely self-absorbed, and wrapped up in their little world where ignorance is the lifestyle they love to live. They live in their little enclave of fellow people that have this mindset, while being completely happy that the people they like to claim they're the champions of, get hassled any time they cross over Austin Avenue. Meanwhile they're living in their predominantly white, middle to upper class neighborhoods, talking about the poor, yet failing to demand accountability when the programs that were put in place show zero positive effects on the demographic they claim to be the champions of.

They such hypocritical, loathsome, moral and soulless human beings.

I know this is mean, but to heck with them. I hope they read this and it begins sinking in.

Oak Park stands to be one of the most posted areas in the state, perhaps the country, The city just west is forest Park which is probably the 2nd most posted. A store manager told me he was mailed a no gun sticker with a letter informing him he MUST post. I have been unsuccessful in trying to get a copy of the letter but I would bet my brazier that Senator Harmon is behind it.
