Xwing Posted March 19, 2010 at 11:39 PM Share Posted March 19, 2010 at 11:39 PM That's great news. $20 for shooting a rifle is a good price. I wish they were a bit cheaper on the handgun though. $20 seems a bit high for shooting a handgun...
Silver Guardian Posted March 20, 2010 at 12:41 AM Share Posted March 20, 2010 at 12:41 AM How I have waited for this day. It being practically next door should make up for the higher range fee. No more driving out to crook county for me.

cherryriver Posted March 20, 2010 at 02:14 PM Share Posted March 20, 2010 at 02:14 PM $20 is really reasonable in this day and age, given the insurance problems and OSHA/EPA troubles. But the $125/10 pass is very good, and the annual if you use it is actually cheap.I've gotten spoiled belonging to two or three outdoor clubs but this is a good bad-weather option. This is the same price that they used to charge at the old facility in bensenville. Where the heck can you shoot an AR all day for 20 bucks now days? Where the heck can you shoot an AR all day for 20 bucks now days? I think they were $10 for the handgun-only side back in Bensenville, and they only charged $20 if you wanted to shoot rifle. I like that rate structure better...
templar223 Posted March 24, 2010 at 01:42 PM Share Posted March 24, 2010 at 01:42 PM You people in Chicagoland really do get to pay out of the nose to shoot, don't you? Down here next door to God's country (that would be any state my FL permit is recognized, BTW), it's $50-$75/year, shoot all you want (outdoors). With any luck, the new health insurance bill won't tax range time like they are taxing tanning bed time. John
Heavy Posted March 24, 2010 at 02:01 PM Share Posted March 24, 2010 at 02:01 PM Me being here in Villa Park I am really excited to have a range in Lombard! I think I will buy the year pass. I would love it though if I could find a relatively close outdoor range.

RandyP Posted March 25, 2010 at 02:03 PM Share Posted March 25, 2010 at 02:03 PM IMHO, the 'good' local Chicagoland ranges charge a single visit fee. Those that charge by the hour do not get my business. I target shoot for relaxation and don't like being on a stopwatch.

Crappy weather or winter time when there is nothing better to do. You are close to me Heavy (i'm in Roselle), we'll have to meet up at gun world when the range opens and do some shooting together. Houndawg Posted May 13, 2010 at 05:37 PM Share Posted May 13, 2010 at 05:37 PM I shot once at the old place in Bensenville and never went back. Had to use their cheap ammo that they charged out the rear for, couldn't use a holster, and the range itself was set up by idiots.
