technical Posted December 27, 2018 at 04:12 AM Share Posted December 27, 2018 at 04:12 AM Best I can tell per dnr code that it's acceptable to carry while hunting in a designated state forest? Squirrel hunting to be exact, state law says you can shoot them with whatever but site rules state .22 / shotgun. I don't read that being in possession of another caliber for ccw as being illegal. Quiet Observer Posted December 31, 2018 at 02:36 PM Share Posted December 31, 2018 at 02:36 PM Q: Is it legal for an Illinois Concealed Carry Permit holder to be in possession of a concealed firearm when hunting? A: It is illegal to conceal carry while deer or turkey hunting, but it is legal to carry while hunting all other species. However, a deer hunter hunting during the firearm deer seasons can carry a concealed firearm if that firearm is of the legal type for firearm deer hunting. The specifications for legal deer hunting handguns can be found on page 17 of this Digest.
