Hopefully they find something tied to Madigan and Cullerton, and the Feds take down the entire crooked bunch of cronies.

Another thought is Burke makes his millions protesting and adjusting business RE tax bills. He represents Donald Trump on his Trump Tower tax bill.

Me cynical? Heck no.

Harmon is a partner in the Burke Burns & Pinelli, law firm, and when I saw "Burke" I was suddenly giddy.

However it's NOT THAT Burke.

Edward M. Burke is the alderman

Edward J. Burke is the Named firm partner.

Donald F. Harmon joined Burke Burns & Pinelli, Ltd. as a partner in January 2005. He practices primarily in the areas of corporate law and civil litigation. His practice concentrates mainly on transactional matters, serving both private and public sector clients. Mr. Harmon has counseled corporate and municipal clients on general organizational and operation matters as well as in complex transactions, including lending and financing transactions, real estate development matters, land use and zoning matters, and corporate mergers and acquisitions. He has also rendered legal counsel and opinions in sophisticated municipal finance transactions, serving variously as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, bank counsel, borrower's counsel, and issuer's counsel.

Mr. Harmon has also offered advice and guidance to not-for-profit corporations, in both general corporate matters and financing transactions. Mr. Harmon participates in the firm's appellate litigation practice and counsels clients on pre-litigation dispute resolution matters. He also represents clients in personal injury, product liability, class action, and Workers' Compensation litigation.

First elected to the Illinois State Senate in 2002, Senator Harmon is the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Assignments, and a member of the Judiciary Committee, Financial Institutions Committee, and Criminal Law Committee. He also serves as chairman of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.

Prior to his election to the Illinois Senate, he served as Deputy Legal Counsel to then House Democratic Leader Michael J. Madigan. Before that, he was a Public Interest Law Initiative Fellow in the City of Chicago Law Department in the Special Prosecutions Division.

Burke even looks like a crook in his pinstripe suits. I hope he goes to prison for the rest of his life, he is everything that is wrong with Chicago and Illinois politics. But I hope they tapped his phones and bugged his favorite restaurant, he probably does nothing on the computer. He probably doesn't even know how to use one.

After over 5 decades of dining lavishly at the public trough, knowing where all the bodies are buried and that no one is apt to testify against him, I suspect it's highly unlikely he's going anywhere but back home into a warm comfy chair.

i was thinking that same thing.burke, along with madagin are untouchable.

Once again it is the Feds finding corruption because the 4 term Illinois AG still hasn’t been able to find a crooked politician 8n Illinois. Sadly, the incomeming AG will be beholding to King Madigan too.

This is the most sickening aspect f it all. The corruption is buried so deep its probably legitimate by now. It is a corrupt enterprise and is going to take some very smart people to crack it. We can hope.

When they are inside the state, I’d agree. This is far beyond little Lisa’s handling.

Unions, public sector workers and the dependent class is what makes up the majority of the voters in Illinois. No one would continue to vote in bad government unless there was something in it for them. I’m retired union, my union offers CCL classes and was totally behind the blue wave that swept in an antigun state government. It’s p***** me off for years.

Talked to our advisor who told us that only natural causes will take the ring leaders of the street gang running our state. So it’ll take time, but time is relentless.

I love Second City Cop. All the most interesting news.

UPDATE: Did everyone see the Tribune headline?

  • Who is Ed Burke? Alderman. Former cop. Ex-Trump attorney.
Beyond politics

In addition to his duty as alderman, Burke works as partner in a Chicago law firm specializing in real estate tax appeals. Perhaps his most notable former client is President Donald Trump.

Burke served as Trump’s lawyer for more than a decade, helping to lower the property bill on Trump’s downtown skyscraper by more than $14 million. In early June of this year, however, Burke announced that he no longer represented Trump’s company in a letter to the Cook County courts and the state Property Tax Appeal Board, the Sun-Times reported.
